3rd Person POV

It has been 3 months since Barry and Kara had met and for the past 2 weeks they've been too busy with their own work that they couldn't hang out but now, with all of it done, they've decided to go out together. They were walking in pleasant quietness down a peaceful street heading to a local donut shop hand in hand platonically, of course they have feelings for each other but don't know how express them.

"Finally, a break from the torture that is assignments." Barry decided to break the silence.

"And now, I'm grabbing donuts with my favorite person." Kara smiled.

"You're my favorite person too, you know?" Barry responded, smiling. She blushed, tucked her loose hair away from her face and responded in a giggle which made him laugh along. The heartwarming moment was soon interrupted by the sound of a telephone ringing near.

"That's mine." Kara said grabbing her phone from her bag answering it quickly, "Ye-yeah, I'll go there, love you too. Barry, my dad's- , I- I got to go." She said with a tone of sadness, tears slowly seeping through her eyelids.

Barry's POV

I quickly hugged her tightly after hearing her say something about her dad, her tearing up, I knew in an instant that the news isn't good. We didn't need to converse any words to one another as I nod to her and flashed her a quick but warm smile.

"I hope you didn't make any plans with me for the week." Kara chuckled, though I could tell it was forced.

"None were made m'lady." I joked trying to lighten the mood felt in the atmosphere. I actually had lots of stuff planned for the week. I had called Joe this morning asking him if he wanted to go to a camping trip with Iris, Kara and myself. I wanted for us to get away from the city just for a few days to ease our minds a bit and hopefully, by that time, I would have the courage to ask her out. But now, I don't think that's gonna happen anymore sadly.

She chuckled again, a small tone of joy now audible, "Goodbye, Barr."

"Never goodbye, only see you later."

"You should tell her."

"About what?" My foster sister, after catching up with me on a street, confused me.

"Oh come on, anyone with eyes could see how you feel about Kara." She responded, a little annoyed.

"Kara? Wha- what are you talking about?... I don't- I don't know." I sighed at the end. I tried to play dumb at first but soon I realized that it had no point to Iris, "What if she doesn't feel the same way?" I added.

"Are you kidding me? She literally has the hots for you. Every time you go in a room she's in her face instantly lights up, and you two are like perfect for each other."

I couldn't say a word, 'I am really slow, aren't I?' I pondered to myself. "Yeah, I guess you're right." I said softly after a brief moment of contemplating.

"I know I'm right." She said sassily, "Anyways, I'm gonna go get some food, want any?" She asked.

"Pizza." I answered simply

"Okay, just give some thought to what I just said." She added.

"I know."
