"Who is that guy, and what is he so proud of?" She scoffed at the fit blonde man's cocky attitude, "So? He caught a mugger."

"Eddie Thawne." Felicity answered to Iris' question.

"Ohhh, so that's detective 'Pretty Boy'..." Said Iris as she glanced him up and down.

Felicity gave her a confused smirk.

"That's what my dad calls him." She then added after seeing the blonde's expression, "Says he actually keeps score when it comes to arrests." Iris rolled her eyes, "I'm Iris, by the way." She finally greeted, holding her hands out for the woman to shake.

"Felicity." She introduced back with a smile. A small silence cut in, "So, are you like Barry's..." Felicity trailed off, then constructing both her hands into a kiss gesture.

"Oh, no, I'm his foster sister." Iris shook her head.

"Ah, mhmm... okay." The blonde nodded slightly but consecutively, trying to play it cool. For reasons unknown to her, she somehow felt a feeling of hope knowing that Barry isn't together with Iris.

Iris, after sensing the weird aura around them, then asked, "So, are you still studying or?"

However, before Felicity could even respond, the ground shook. The police officers and detectives nearby all chattering something along the lines of 'What's going on?'.

A thunderous sky-cracking sound was heard by all inside the precinct. The workers immediately rushed to the windows, cramping each other in the process.

Once Iris and Felicity had slipped in through the crowd, both thought their eyes were deceiving them. In the night rainy sky, a massive beam shot from the middle of STAR Labs were shown, blooming glowing-dust around it.

Afterwards, a visible orange shockwave erupted from the laboratory, slowly making it's way to the precinct. All concerned, ducked, but to their surprise, nothing physical happened, nothing but the lights turning off.

The rain now tapped the glass windows harder, rolling thunder were seen up above and flashing their faces. Then, all that was heard was a loud, ear-shattering sound. All the occupants of the precinct were now holding their ears with their hands.

"That was in the lab!" They heard someone yell.

"Barry!" Both Iris and Felicity called out in unison as they ran towards the place.

Kara felt a hard strike inside her head and there was nothing she could do about it. She was hyperventilating as if there was an animal lodged inside her lungs. She tried to hold back her screams as to not disturb her roommate's focus on her studying. Instead, she opted to yelping.

To her disbelief, the brunette roommate was caverns deep into her activity that she didn't realize Kara was spazzing out.

Kara then finally realized that her mental connection to Barry was cut like rope, no strings attached. Her heart jolted up, shivers ran through her spine, 'Barry? Barry are you there? Talk to me, please!' She mentally pleaded to her boyfriend.

"Barry!" Kara screamed in tears, her body still shook as she couldn't move a single muscle for more than a second. In the corner of her eye, the blonde saw and found out that her roommate was listening to music with earphones.

Knowing that she couldn't count on her friend to help her, she gained every drop of strength, ran to the door and unlatched the locks to run off. Or more precisely, speed off.

"Barr?" He called out, "Barry!" He shouted once again after seeing his foster son covered in shattered glass and chemicals, lied down on a fallen rack. But unbeknownst to him, a person was already there in his son's aid, "Kara? How did you-"
