To say that you and Fred Weasley were close friends was an understatement.
The two of you were the best of friends.
Fred was as close to you as he was with his twin, sometimes – George would even call you their "missing triplet".
So, he could easily drop by at your house with no warning at all.
It was a nice Saturday afternoon. You plopped down on the couch, a nice book in your hands and a cup of coffee by your side.
You suddenly heard a knock on the door, but when you heard it open, you immediately knew who it was.
Fred was the only one who had the spare key to your apartment.
"What are you doing here on such a lovely day Freddie?" You asked, not even bothering to look up from your book.
"The internet at my place is slower than Ron, just thought that I'd crash here for a bit and smooch of your internet." Fred answered with a small smile.
You playfully rolled your eyes at him, "Be thankful that you're my friend or else I would have you pay for using the internet by the hour."
Fred laughed, 'Brilliant."
The truth? Fred didn't have a problem with his internet connection, George was actually streaming Netflix right now. He just wanted an excuse to go over to Y/N's apartment and spend some time with you.
Fred took a seat by the table, opening his laptop and trying to connect to your internet.
He entered the password, only for it to be incorrect. Turns out, you had changed your password.
Not wanting to interrupt your reading, Fred tried his best to come up with all possible passwords.
As a joke, he then typed in fred.weasley and clicked enter.
His laptop was suddenly connected to the internet but he was just staring at his computer in complete shock.
Various thoughts ran in his mind, why was his name your wi-fi password? It's not like he didn't like it, it made his heart melt but why? Did it have a significant meaning? Or was it the first thing you thought up when trying to think of a new password.
"Are you okay Freddie?" Your voice rang through his mind.
He looked up and saw you with a worried look on your face, your book now resting on your lap.
He nodded, moistening his lips, "Yeah. I'm fine."
He then took a deep breath before asking the main question on his mind, "Did you change your wi-fi password?"
A blush rose up to your cheeks as you suddenly remembered that you had, indeed, changed it last week, "Yeah. I can input it for you."
You took the laptop from his lap, and when you saw that he was already connected to the internet.
You wanted the ground to swallow you up – if Fred was to ever find out about your crush on him, it might be through George, Ginny or the fact that you might let it slip someday.
But you never expected your password to spill your secret.
"So," Fred said, looking at you with a cheeky grin as he got over his initial shock, "My name is your wi-fi password."
"Yeah." You answered, avoiding his gaze, "Don't worry, I'll change it later."
Fred furrowed his brows, the grin disappearing, "Why?"
You shrugged, "I just thought that you might find it weird."
He started shaking his head, "I don't. I actually love it."
"Really?" You asked, giving him a look of surprise.
He nodded, lacing your hands together, "I love it. But I have to know – why me?"
You blushed even harder as you muttered, "Because I like you." thinking that he wouldn't hear.
"I like you too." He said, "Much more than a friend."
Your eyes met, then Fred started to lean forward and press your lips together in a passionate kiss.
Thank Merlin for the password.
