Tomorrow would mark Alices 18th birthday, the first out of all of us to be an adult. It was exciting for all of us despite it being her birthday, we would have change! It's exciting because change doesn't come often the latest big change was when Mom..y'know.

"Soo, you feel any different yet?" i asked poking Alice as she looked at the clock, it's was 11:58pm, almost tomorrow, almost her birthday. "No, birthdays don't really just morph you. It usually happens before, or after but through new things you can do. Like i'll be Queen!" she said her face lighting up. "About that." Dad cut in, coming around from a corner. She frowned knowing she'd be disappointed by the words that came out of his mouth next. "Oh what now? You're gonna take away me being Queen and give it to like, Techno? Or someone." she said laughing throwing her head back exaggerating it. I giggled no way Dad would take that away from her, i mean after everything?

No way- "Yes. Techno will be King instead of you tomorrow." we stopped our laughter, my head turning to the clock, 12:00 "Today?" i said my voice cracking as i looked to Alice who didn't look disappointed, nor sad, nor angry. Emotionless was her face, the ultimate form of disappointment for her. I then looked to Dad, who had to be kidding, who had to have a smiling face that told us he wasn't being serious. His crossed arms and also emotionless face screamed serious.

She stood up, taking the paper crown Tommy made her off, the crown saying best Queen. And put it on the table and stared at it as Tommy ran in. "Happy birthday best Queen to be!" Tommy said hugging Alice, now she looked angry. Her eyes darted to Dad, who now looked nervous, looking anywhere but her, guilty asshole he was. Tommy noticed the tension. He stepped away from Alice and Dad and toward me like routine. Whenever it got like this with them me, Tommy, and even Techno all hid in a room together as the halls turned into a mess from Alice being mad and immature, but you can't really blame her. She was forced to grow up faster than us all so she could be Queen. But now that was took away from her. I wouldn't be surprised if she punched a hole big enough for her to walk through.

I grabbed Tommy's hand and started walking towards my room, until i heard a thud. I turned fully expecting Dad to be on the ground. Instead it was Alice, her head between her legs curled into a ball. Crying. Something she never did, not in-front of us anyways. "Alice.." Dad started kneeling toward her his wings as big as ever but then came a second pair, ripping right out of Alice's shirt leaving two holes just big enough for them. Her wings were white, color of purity they were bigger than Dads, color of power. She was the color of strength.

She was Alice.
