Cross' fear

"I'm curious but why do you never come with us whenever we go to Farmtale?" Killer asked, looking up from his project of a wooden statue and turning to Cross. "It's complicated and dumb." Cross sheepishly laughed. "Oh come on! Don't hesitate to tell us!" Dust snickered while Cross shook his head. "I don't wanna." Cross snuck his tongue out while X flew around him. "Honestly Cross, your fear of cows really is dumb." "Shut it X, no one asked for your opinion." Cross mumbled softly to himself when Horror then entered the room. "Yo! Boss said we could do a supply run today!" Horror cheered lightly. "Oh, sweet! Which AU are we raiding?" "Well, we need some meat so one of them would be Farmtale because fresh meat. Then we can have Cross go to markettale again." Horror chirped and Dust nods. "Sounds like a plan." Cross just gave a thumbs up. "I'm not going to Farmtale though so I'm just gonna move to Markettale." Cross then got up. "Alright Cross! Goodluck!" Horror chirped and Cross gave a thumbs up. "I still don't get why he refuses to go to farmtale." Dust pouts and Horror and Killer shrugged. Killer then setting down his unfinished wooden piece and Cross opened a portal to Farmtale. He then teleported away to go change.

He's pretty much the only one in the gang that Markettale couldn't really recognize yet since he's still new. So all he really needs is a change of clothes and he's good to go.

Soon enough, he arrived at the Original Markettale with a red hoodie that has white fur. A navy blue t-shirt underneath and black sweatpants with a white line. He then opened the list his Boss gave him and began to walk down. Cross had a bandage wrapped around his left eyesocket to hide his red eye and the lightning wound. This was his usual get up anyways whenever he goes to Markettale.

He then just went ahead and bought everything with the money. Using his gravitational magic to carry the bags as he didn't want to carry them that much. Once he was done getting everything, he then went to spot where he won't be seen before narrowing his eyesockets when he heard faint footsteps. People were following him, for what, he doesn't know. He then opened his inventory and then puts the bags inside just in case before stopping. Hearing the footsteps stop to. He then turned around and his eyesockets widened a bit in fear when he saw it was three monsters, but that's not what he feared, oh no. It's because two of them were cow monsters. "What do you want...?" Cross spoke, hiding the shaking in his voice as he glared at them. X quickly standing besides Cross. Since he's the only one aware of Cross' fear, he pretty much readied himself to possess Cross at any given moment. "Oh nothing. We just want a little... Talk." A black and white cow monster said and began to approach Cross, who began to back away a bit. Damn it, damn it all! Why does he have to have such a stupid fear?! "I don't think that's not nothing." Cross frowned before he flinched a bit when he felt his back hit a tree. "Give us your money and this won't get dirty." The third non-cow monster spoke, a sheep of sorts. "How about no." Cross frowned and quickly yelped, ducking when a cow monster attempted to punch him. "We weren't asking!" The second cow-monster hissed and Cross shuts his eyesockets. "Want me to take over?" "Please..." "Please what? Huh?" The one who was standing in front of him growled. Cross' shaking stopped before he then suddenly summoned a knife and did a swift swipe. The cow's blood spraying as his neck got cut open before dropping to the ground. "What- why you-!" The other two never got a chance to finish when X then summoned his much larger knife and cleanly decapitated them both. Wiping some of the blood from Cross' skull, he then pocketed the bandage around his skull and then opened a portal, entering it. "Thank you X." Cross muttered as he got in control again. "No problem. You owe me three chocolates.... But in all seriousness, you need to learn to control your fear Cross." X frowned while Cross kept wiping some of the blood off. "I know, but it's hard... I've had this fear since I was a kid really... Sure it was from a stupid reason but like... Trauma doesn't really leave that easily. And I never got anyone to help me fight it." Cross muttered while X slowly nods. He then went to the kitchen before he froze when he saw a familiar black and white animal in the kitchen with Horror patting it. "Hey Cross! Look! Me, Dust and Killer got a cow!" Horror cheered happily while Cross gulped a bit. "That- That's nice..." Cross shakily grinned while Dust raised a brow. "You okay Cross? You look like you've seen a ghost. You're even paler than normal which is saying something." Dust commented and Cross just gave a thumbs up. "I'm good... Just gonna- just gonna drop the groceries off..." Cross stuttered while Killer gasped. "Don't tell me you're afraid of cows!" Killer teased and X glared at Killer. "N-Nope. Not at all... Just got a bit- chilly." Cross sheepishly laughed as he then slowly walked over, he can do this. He can do this. "Cross, it's okay to fear it even if it's dumb." X frowned. 'They'll laugh at me for it X! It's a stupid dumb fear!" "It may be stupid and dumb but it's not your fault that you fear it." X frowned as Cross puts the bags away, staring at the cow while praying it doesn't make a sound. His fear is mainly about the sound after all. "Hey Cross! C'mere and give it a pet!" Killer cheered and grabbed Cross' hand. "Hey- Hey wait I don't need to do that!" Cross yelped as Killer dragged him. "Oh c'mon! It won't be that bad!" Killer cheered while Dust stared at Cross, and the obvious fear in his eyes. Something was wrong. "I don't think we should-" then, the cow mooed and Cross froze. Fear taking over and he quickly snatched his hand from Killer. "Cross?" Killer turned to Cross before stopping when he saw the tears brimming Cross' eyesockets. Oh no. Cross showed weakness. Cross couldn't move. He just kept staring at the cow. Another moo and all Cross saw was black.

"Cross!" Horror, Killer and Dust collectively yelled when Cross just suddenly fainted. Nightmare teleporting into the room. "What happened?!" "B-Boss it's Cross! He fainted!" Horror yelled as Nightmare quickly rushed towards Cross before turning to X. "X do you know anything about this?" Nightmare frowned and X thinned his lips. "It's okay X. I promise I won't judge..." Nightmare softly said and X sighed. "Cross has... A massive fear of cows. He told me it came from trauma from an encounter." X mumbled and Nightmare frowned before turning to the cow. "Get that thing out of here. Kill it or whatever. I don't care." "Awh dang." Horror pouts. "I don't wanna hear your whiney asses. Did any of you even knew that Cross feared cows?!" "Wh-What...?" Killer was surprised. He didn't think that Cross actually feared those things...

Dust's eyelights went black before he suddenly summoned a gaster blaster and targetted it at the cow. Horror slowly took out his axe before just repeatedly stabbing the cow with it. How dare it! How dare the cow become Cross' fear!

Safe to say, after that day and they confronted Cross. They'll never bring a cow or anything related to it - besides beef and milk because food - into the mansion again.

"Why didn't you tell us...?" "I... I didn't wanna become a laughing stock or... Or get kicked out... It- It's a stupid and d-dumb fear I kn-know-" "Cross..." Cross looked up at his boss, still curled up and wrapped in blankets. "Stupid, dumb or not. We don't give a shit about what you fear, alright? You're part of us now and that isn't gonna change how we see you." Nightmare spoke sternly and Cross blinked before tearing up and nodding lightly. Dust, Horror and Killer quickly hugged Cross.
