In the POV of nobody, February 3rd. The Release of Roadtrip.

Clay sat at his desk, waiting for the comments to roll in. The song exceded his expectations but still, he was nervous to post it. What would Y/n think? Would she be weirded out that he wrote about his ex-girlfriend? His mind was spinning but the clock hit midnight. It was now February 4th and the song was released, quickly racking views on the premiere. Clay quickly shut the monitor off, his anxiety reaching an all time high. He just wanted y/n to be proud. Was that enough?

His mind was racing and his phone was receiving an all-time-high of notifications. He, reluctantly, logged onto the device, clicking the Twitter app and viewing the overwhelming support. A trending spot in music was something he dreamed of but, to be completely honest, he was in awe by a tweet.

He was smiling at his phone like never before

He was smiling at his phone like never before. She liked the song and that was all he wanted. Meanwhile, Y/n was laying in her bed, streaming the song again and again. His voice was calming to her and a song that she could listen to all the time was exciting. She didn't want to sound strange but, she was proud of him. He worked hard on the song and she only hoped that he knew how good it was himself.

Y/n stood from her bed, stretching and heading to the kitchen. She grabbed a hot cocoa packet and emptied it into a mug with hot milk. She stirred it and sat at the counter, only to be met with a facetime video from a recent number she added. She positioned her phone to the ceiling and clicked to answer, not even the slightest bit of hesitance.

"Karl Jacobs, what has you calling this late? Isn't it midnight for you?" The girl said, sure to hide her face.

"Yeah but I need you to get online at 3pm your time on the 12th," Karl said. She hadn't told him off her birthday so she could only assume that she would begin to start lore then.

"Alright, alright. I'll talk to you at Jackbox tomorrow, alright?" She said, wanting to end the awkwardness of the call quickly. He said goodbye and hung up, leaving the girl confused. She had hoped he would talk to her about things Clay said behind closed doors like he usually did but it was for something he could've easily texted. Strange but, nevertheless, she wouldn't judge.

Y/n finished her drink and brought herself back to bed, hoping the warm beverage would make her tired. But it didn't, and she had no clue why she expected it to. She stared at the ceiling, listening to Clay's song once more before falling asleep to the melody.

Clay on the other hand couldn't top thinking about her. His head was filled with memories of them, either on call in private or streaming. She made him happy, which was a crazy concept because they had never seen each other. He wanted to hear her voice but, he knew she was asleep. It was a gut feeling but, deep inside, he knew. He had a favorite memory of all time though and it was his favorite secret between the two.

"Clay, yuo've really gotten a spark of confidence today. Haven't you?"

"You know it. But how could I not when I'm lucky enough to have the best person in the world in a call with me."

"Oh, how sweet. How would George feel hearing you say that?"

"How would George feel seeing me finally make a move? He'd be proud, or I'd like to think that."

"So now you're making a move?"

"Yeah and maybe I'll keep doing it if you're fine with it. Consent first, you know?"

"Then you have my full consent. It'll be an adventure seeing you try. I don't take hints very easily."

"Oh, come on. You're much better than I am at it."

"Want to know what else I am better than you at?"

"Go for it. I'd like to hear all about it, y/n."

"Kissing. And I would be willing to test it out with you in the future."

"Are you sure?"

"Positive. I'll be going to bed now, okay? Sleep well, Clay."

Clay cherished that memory. It made him less uneasy about everything, especially about relationship things. He smiled and began to reminisce until he too was asleep. Soundly, the two "opposites" slept. Strange how they were so different but so alike. How a single song, which made them similar, brought the two together. Fate, or whatever people choose to call it, was surprising but never failed.
