In the POV of Dream, three hours later

We had gone back to her place after that and fell back asleep, holding each other tighter than ever. I stroke my right hand through her hair, the silky h/c strands flowing between the crooks of my fingers. My left-hand holds my phone, scrolling through Twitter with a smile.

"That smile looks so good on you," I hear a soft voice say. I turn my head to face Y/n, her eyes glazing a look over my face.

"You're too kind," I whisper, putting my phone down and going back to fully hug her. She moves off me quickly and goes to her room.

"I'm going to get ready! Look for a place to go to brunch before the museum!" I hear the door shut and pull up my phone, looking on maps for 5-star restaurants. I see an interesting place, click for their phone number, and call, placing a reservation. I walk to her room to see her dressed and doing her makeup. I quickly get dressed and wait in the living room. She walks in after a few minutes, her hair flowing on either side of her.

"Woah," I say, caught off guard. She smiles and flaunts herself playfully, her hair bouncing as she strikes a new pose. We both laugh and I get up from the couch. I go to my bag quickly and slip the jewelry box in my pockets, quickly making my way to the front door. I take her hand in mine and we shut the door, leaving the apartment to go to the 5-star restaurant. We go to her car and I get to the driver's side. She begins her playlist and we drive into the deep city, my right hand on her left thigh. We sang and joked together until we arrived at the restaurant.

"You picked the nicest restaurant in town?" She asked, her eyes wide in confusion and happiness.

"Only the best for you," I swooned, her eyes filling with excitement. We went inside and ate a nice meal, leaving a generous tip then leaving for the museum. It just hit noon and we were walking inside. Her eyes lit up as she took in the reason we came here in the first place.

"You're kidding, you bastard!" She practically yelled, a few heads turning our way. We walk through the house and explore, her taking multiple selfies. We both had masks on and sunglasses on our heads so we quickly pulled them down for a picture. We continued till we made it to the nether portal portion of the exhibit. The exhibit seemed dead since it was lunchtime. Now was the perfect time.

"Take your mask down, you look cool from behind there." I pulled my mask down also and began walking through, my left hand fumbling with the box in my pocket. I walked through and held the box to her. I got closer and opened it, her eyes full of excitement.

"What is this for?" She asked softly, her eyebrows pinching the skin in between them as she thought.

"I have feelings for you, Y/n. This trip just solidified it. I have strong feelings and it's so hard to describe them. I want to be with you always, even though I know we can't. I want to be able to eventually wake up to seeing you every day. I need you, so much, and you're just so amazing. You're kind, smart, funny, and overall so perfect."I was rambling, we both knew that, so I shut it quickly. I had to just say it, I'm already so far in. "Y/n, will you be my girlfriend?" Glittery tears rolled down her cheeks, her smile wide.

"Oh my god, Clay, of course, of course I will. I thought you'd never ask!" She jumped onto me and hugged me tightly. Her face met mine and we looked into each other's eyes. Her e/c eyes were happy, a shimmering clearness laying over the beautiful color. Our noses touched, a sensation of electricity filling my body. Like tasting your favorite candy for the first time. I set her down and cupped her face, a small nod coming from her. Consent, important even in moments of adrenaline and exhilaration.

I pull her in, forcing her to her tippy toes. She continued the kiss, turning it into a moment of pure bliss. We disconnected, our faces red and hot. Nobody was around, the museum was silent. She pulled me in once more, another moment of ecstasy, playing with the strands of my hair as we continued. Once more, we fell apart and continued through the museum, our masks back on fully. A smile hadn't left our faces.

We ended with punching the tree, skipping the playing on the computer since the museum was starting to pick up the pace once again. I got a picture of her punching it then she got one of me. We left the museum, hand in hand, walking to her car. I drove us home, my hand on her thigh as we drove through the city.

"You're the best, Clay. I mean it," she spoke softly.

"No, you're the best. You've made life so much more exciting," I retorted, a smile spreading wider on her face.

We went to her apartment, closing the door as soon as we were inside. We ate lunch and dinner, waiting for the skyline to fall into a sunset so light wouldn't reflect in our photo idea. We watched a movie and when the sun began to set, presenting an array of pinks, yellows, and purples in the sky. We set up a ring light and put her phone on it then set the timer. We kissed in front of the sunset, our faces pitch black but message clear. We posted the pictures at the same time, the caption: oops. People went crazy, the #1-#3 trending on Twitter about us kissing in a picture. When Will commented on both of ours asking if we were dating, we both responded with a smile. It was fun watching them freak out. It was fun watching everyone's reactions.

We were both head over heels, over the moon, on top of the world in love. And while I might not be able to tell her now, I'll say it one day. I swear I will. And I'll say it a million times on our day, because I know we'll have one. It'll be the day of our wedding and I'll praise her till then and after then. Because she is the light and I the follower.
