In the POV of Dream, at the airport
Her eyes weld crystal-like tears as we stood in the check-in area. She continued to brush them off, as if she wanted to hide them, while we stood in line for check-in.
"You idiot, you couldn't stay any longer? Not even a day?" She spoke, her voice heavy and distraught. We'd gotten no sleep last night, spending our final time together pulling an all-nighter and watching ridiculously old horror movies.
"I wish I could, honestly. You'll have to visit me sometime soon. Or move there," I said shyly. She pulled her mask up a tiny bit before nodding. We were almost at the front, a daunting energy looming over us.
"You know, moving to Florida doesn't seem so bad. I have some distant family there I believe." She stared ahead as we would be next, her eyes growing wide. "I'm not ready to see you leave," her voice shook.
"I'm not ready either. I wish I'd be able to spend everyday with you. But we'll see each other fairly soon. If not, I'd lose my mind," I said, taking a deep breath after.
"I'm sorry but, are you Dream and Nightmare? You sound an awful a lot like them and you're going to Florida and you're in Seattle where Nightmare lives," a voice behind us said. I turned to see a teenage girl, a bit shorter than Y/n, smiling at us.
"I'm sorry but who names their kid those?" I ask, somehow not managing to break out a smile. Y/n keeps a straight face as well, doing a lot better at acting than I am.
"No, they're my favorite youtubers and streamers. Just a weird coincident then. Sorry," she said before putting her Airpods in. The line moved forward and I stepped up with my information, quickly checking in.
"So this is goodbye," she whispered as we got a few feet between us and the now-checking-in kid.
"That it is," I answered, tears welling in the corners of my eyes.
"Well then," she said, taking a few steps forward away from the kid. "Have safe travels, Clay. I'll miss you more than you'll ever know. And, about moving, I genuinely would like that but I have no clue how it would work, moving across the country like that. As soon as you can find out how to get my belongings to Florida, I'll be there with you." She hugged me tight before leaving, the tears in my eyes finally dropping down my face.
The flight was fine but it stung to leave. I managed to get my missed out sleep in. As I get off the plane and to the bagging area, Nick's face comes into my vision. His phone is up to his ear, speaking to someone. He looks around, eventually spotting me walking in his direction. I get closer to him, his voice getting louder.
"He probably hasn't even looked at his phone. He is safe, he is with me right now." He says. It's got to be Y/n on the phone. I quickly take mine out of my pocket and turn off airplane mode, notifications rolling in quickly. I pull up her messages, quickly reading them.
Y/n <3
Hi Clay, just wanted to wish you safe travels again :)
Let me know when you land!Just found a company that'll ship my computer stuff to you if I move.
Wait, for real? Also, I just got to the bagging area!
I had my phone on airplane mode still, sorry :(No worries, Nick told me. Your ending flight time was wrong so I was worried something happened! Have Nick put you on the phone.
Okay
"Why the hell did you go silent, Y/n?" Nick said, an eyebrow perked up.
"Let me see the phone Nick," I say, my hand open. He rolls his eyes with a smile and hands it to me, Y/n instantly chattering.
