Chapter 7: Not A Kiss

•)Logan's POV(•

Bright rays of sunlight shine past the open window and onto her face. Alex's face. Yes, I probably seem like a stalker, watching her sleep and yes, maybe I am enjoying it just a tiny bit, but what the hell. She looked so peaceful, with her innocent features and light snores, that I almost forgot how much she hated me.

I know that I was an ass to her, and I know that I have no excuse for it either. At the time I was angry, but not at her like she thought. I was mad at myself and I directed my fury onto her. I said and did things that hurt her and that wasn't fair to her. I almost tried to apologized again. Almost. I tried the first time, but she walked away before I could.

I snapped out of my thoughts as she yawned and slowly peeled open her eyes. She took a moment to take in her surroundings, confusion clouding her features right before realization settled in. When her eyes landed on me, she jumped up and hit her head hood of the car.

She grimaced as she rubbed her head and frowned at me. I smiled back.

"About time you wake up. At one point, I thought you were dead." I got up from my laying position and sat against the window shield.

After jumping Alex in the middle of the night, I tried to jump in the window of the car, but it was too high up from the outside and I couldn't get through. I decided to camp out on the hood of the car and even invited Alex too, but she refused and reluctantly laid on the muddy ground.

After a while, when she fell asleep, I picked her up and laid her down next to me, deciding I wouldn't just leave her to freeze on the ground. I'm not that heartless. I fell asleep next to her, watching the stars.

"We need to get out of here," she murmured as she slid off the car. "My aunt is going to kill me!"

Hearing what she just said, a though came to mind.

April!

Oh god, I left her at Mrs. Stone's house. I dropped her off yesterday morning, so she could take care of her while I went to school. Then I took a pit stop at a bar and the rest is kind of fuzzy until I sobered up with the last person I expected to see.

I was supposed to pick up April after school, but I forgot. Knowing Mrs. Stone though, the only person who knows my situation besides my best mates, would have let her stay no problem. Still, I shouldn't have just left her there. I'm such an idiot!

I jumped off the car, quickly pulling out my cell phone. Dead. Just great.

"Ok we need to go, now." I said to Alex as she was trying to climb a tree for cell phone signal.

"I just said that, idiot." She sighed, giving up.

"Ok, we can't use the car, obviously, and we don't have signal to call anyone, so our best luck would be to go on foot and try to find a gas station or something." I thought for a second on the direction and decided on going the direction that we were supposed to be heading before we got stuck.

"Wait, so we're just going to abandon my car here?" She looked longingly at her car.

"Yes, and I'm worried about you, Alex. I think you might be developing feelings for your car." I feigned a worried expression, watching her reaction.
