Hey guys, I'm back.

I know I haven't update in FOREVER, but I've been extremely busy with sports and family and finals and exams, I just seem to forget that I have a book too. Anyways, I would normally update on a monthly basis but things have been getting in the way and for that I'm sorry. Especially because I have never gone this long without updating before.

Once again I'm really sorry for the wait, and for that I'll either be going an extra long chapter or a double update. I haven't decided yet. Enjoy!

P.S. This is unedited.

Chapter 12: Not Going To Lose

•)Logan's POV(•

As I pulled up to the race track entrance, I could hear all the commotion. Everywhere you looked there were girls in clothes that barely covered them, beer bottles in hands, mouths, and on the ground, and lots of scraggly men who come for the excitement that goes with racing. In the air the smell of engine fuel and burned rubber excited me. As I let the familiar racing aura fill my senses, the thoughts from earlier today began to clear.

This is my place. This is where I belong.

I switched off the engine and hopped off my bike. As soon as I did that, my man Will greeted me with a slap on the back and a cold beer.

"Yo Logan, ready to kick some ass?" Will remarked.

"Hell yeah I am." A smirk came onto my face as I cracked open the beer and took a sip. Thank god it was cold.

Memories or her started coming back to my mind. Why do they always come back? I took a gulp of beer.

I hurt her.

Gulp.

I embarrassed her in front of everyone.

Gulp.

I never even got the chance to apologize.

Gulp, gulp.

By this time, I've chugged the beer until my mind was fuzzy and I could finally forget about her.

"Dude, what the hell? You know not to drink much before your races." Will snatched the bottle out of my hand and threw it away.

"Fuck the rules. I go by my own rules. You or nobody gets to tell me what to do." Instantly pissed, I grunted and shoving past him. Why does everyone keep telling me what to do and what's right and what I can't do. Even worse they just expect me to listen to them. Well I won't let them have the satisfaction.

I started trudging away toward the arena but a second later I felt a hand grab my shoulder and spin me around.

"What's up with you, man," Will asked. He shook my shoulders when my mind started floating to space. "Come on dammit, how are you going to win like this."

"I will win, I just needed to clear my mind." I took his hands off of my shoulder and turned to walk away again, but not before calling over my shoulder, "And plus, I've never lost before, and I never will."

"That cockiness will get you killed," he grunted, leaving me be. I was almost to the arena when a thin, brunette girl came up to me and smiled.

"Hey babe, how about after you win this race we can go out and have some fun..?" She flashed me a smile and I've got to say, she's quite a looker.

Images of Alex flash in my head. This girl's eyes weren't near as pretty as hers and her hair-

No. I need to stop thinking about her. This is my night, and I must be going crazy, comparing her to other girls. I just need a good lay and everything will go back to normal.
