Chapter 2: Not Him Again
•)Alex's POV(•
"ALEX! Get your butt up right this second! This is your first day at your new school and you are going to be late!" As I woke up to my aunt screaming in my ear at who the hęll knows when in the freaking morning, I seriously wished I was back in New York.
My old school started at a reasonable 8:30 am while here, school started at 7:30. Who can even get up that early to be there on time without passing out or missing breakfast? Maybe some people can but I'm not one of them. Sleep is my best friend, and if you take away my best friend, you'd regret it. Is that sad?
I grumbled as I threw off my imaginary blanket which was actually just hot air as I padded into the bathroom. I swear it was like 100 degrees last night.
I tried to brush all the snarls out of my light brown birds nest called hair that tumbled down my back almost reaching my waist. When I failed at that I decided just to throw it up into a bun and be done with it. I shimmied my way into some skinny jeans and a T-shirt and threw on some worn out Keds to go along.
As I went downstairs to the kitchen, I heard Lucy let out a stream of curses not so quietly as she most likely just burned our breakfast. When I enter the kitchen, I realized that my aunt really wasn't a morning person. Hair sticking up at angles and bags underneath her eyes, she probably forced herself out of bed just to prove that she can be a parent too. I must be a hassle to live with. Oh well. When she saw me she sighed with a defeated expression plastered on her face.
"Honey, your just going to have to take some money and buy a quick breakfast because this is going to take at least another hour to cook right. Hurry or you'll be late." I didn't argue as I grabbed the keys and my purse, kissed her on the cheek goodbye and was out the door within seconds.

After a quick pit stop at Starbucks, I pulled up into the parkway of my new high school, West Chester High. I saw variety of students up front. Some were hurrying into the building as school was about to start, some were huddled in their little groups chatting about their weekends, and some were just standing there as if waiting for somebody. There were even those one kind of couples that just sat there making out without a care in the world. Or should I say mauling each other's faces off.
I jogged up to the front doors feeling like I just walked into a movie with a superficial high school and high schoolers. As I walked in, I didn't have a clue as to where to go from there.
"Excuse me, but I'm new here, could you maybe point me in the direction of the main office?" I directed hesitantly to a girl who looked nice enough. She had almond brown eyes matched with short blonde hair cut just below her shoulders.
"Sure. Um, just follow me I guess." She gave me a small smile and shut her locker, leading the way.

After getting my schedule and meeting the principal, I remembered that I didn't know my way to my first class, AP Biology. The hall were now almost deserted as the bell has already rang. I walked around the building until I finally found room 183. I wiped my sweaty palms on my shorts as I stood before the door. I took a deep breath as I slowly turned the knob.
When I walked in, all eyes turned from the teacher - more like their friends, to me. Once the teacher noticed the eyes directed elsewhere, he abruptly stopped his teaching and turned to me.
"You must be our new student. Would you like to tell me your name and explain while you are 10 minutes late?" He questioned.
"Uh..I-It's Alex." Ignoring the second question. I must have looked a bit flustered or nervous because a few people started snickering from their seats. Thanks for the support, guys.
"Well Alex, my name is Mr. Birching and it is a pleasure to have you in my class. You can go take a seat next to your new lab partner, Mr. Logan Williams." Mr. Birching pointed towards the empty blue seat in a corner lab table in the back.
But when I looked up from my feet, my eyes darted around the room until they settle on my new seat. Except it wasn't the seat I was looking at, it was the seat next to mine. My gaze was fixated on my new lab partner.
It was the same guy that I dropped ice cream on and smacked in the face with a glass door. And he was staring straight back at me with those piercing blue eyes and knowing smirk.
"Um, sir there must be a mistake, that can't be my new lab partner," I tried.
"Ms. Hemmings, there is no mistake, although Mr. Williams has many visitors, he is the only one without a partner. So if you will please, go take a seat. You are interrupting class." Mr. Birching chastised. Or should I say Mr. Bįtching.
I reluctantly trudged over to my seat as the teacher began the lesson once again. Logan's amused glance followed me until I got to my seat.
"Hey, kitten. I believe we've already met." He drawled with that stupid smirk still there.
"Not you again." I muttered.
"Hey, you're lucky you get to sit next to this," he gestured to his body, "for the rest of senior year. But don't get ahead of yourself, I don't do girls like you." Where is the damn door when you need it?
"Girls like me, huh? You mean the one female who can actually turn you down? I think I'll -"
"Williams! Hemmings! Would you like to share with the class the conversation that is more important than your education?" Mr. Birching glared at us from the front of the classroom.
"Well, Ali here was just telling me how wonderful it is to be my partner. I was trying to tell her that I wasn't interested, but, you know me. Who could resist?" He drawled. You didn't even have to be looking at him, you could just hear the smirk in his voice. Hearing giggles and snorts coming from around the class room, that asshole decided to continue. "Hey, I think I just saw your eye twitch." He whispered into my ear. A shiver ran down my back as his lips brushed my ear. I quickly shoved him away, as he kept smirking at me. Does he have any other facial expression besides that?
"Both of you, detention! Now if you would excuse me, I would like to get back to the lesson, unless you would like to make that a week of detention." Now Mr. Bįtching just looked beyond pissed, if his red face gave away anything.
I instantly shut my mouth and sent him a couple glares while he just returned with a carefree look and a forming smirk on his pink, kissable lips. Wait, where did that come from?

When the bell rang, I basically sprinted out of that suffocating classroom. Making my way towards second period, I saw the same girl that helped me out when I first got here.
"Hey! Wait up! I saw that you got partnered up with that ass. Sorry about that, though. By the way my name is Sam." She stuck out her hand and I shook it. She seemed friendly enough, and she must be the only other girl that can see through Logan's charm besides me. Perfect friend material.
"Alex, but you probably already know that." I replied. We compared our schedules and it turned out we had second and sixth period together. I probably just made my first friend here. Maybe this won't be so bad after all.
