You woke from your nap to a thundering sound on the door of your otherwise silent apartment. Throwing a glance at your alarm clock you see the LED numbers that read six am. Who the hell is at your door? You sluggishly slide off your bed and try to mentally prepare for what to say to the person on the other side. Their knocks stay constantly loud and equally annoying. Who the fuck knocks this loud at six in the morning? You throw the door open with an annoyed glare that is directed at the two men who have decided to bother you. "Can I help you?"
One man has ruby red glasses and a sharp look on his face as he stands silently. He is almost off-putting with how statuesque he is. The other man seems to be much older with a kind smile plastered on his face. You can't help but notice the futuristic wheelchair he sports. You send an annoyed but confused smile their way.
"Hello my dear. Excuse our early wake up call but I was hoping to speak to you Y/N." The older man speaks with a clear and steady British voice. His confidence was almost radiating. While the older man speaks, the man with the glasses is silent. His striking demeanor never changes. You send him a confused look as your eyebrows pinch but motion for him to go on.
"My name is Charles Xavier. I run a school for the gifted and something tells me you would be perfect." He sports a charming smile as he speaks to you. You feel a cold shiver run over your skin as you hear him speak. "In regards to your mutation of course."
"Where did you get the information that I am a mutant?" You can feel nerves rise as he just smiles. You open your mouth to ask again before you feel a strange sensation and seem to hear his voice as it clearly fills your ears. It is quite hard to hide things from me. You stare at him for a moment trying to register if that truly had happened to you. "Holy shit."
"I would like to take you to the school I mentioned. You don't have to but I would love for you to experience it at least once. If you are willing." You weigh the options for a moment before deciding to answer him.
"Lead the way."

The school is littered with people, young and old. You feel strongly out of place as the students rush towards classes or lie around idly. Their looks are drastically different from one another yet somehow they all seem to fit together. As you follow Charles you see a woman with long white hair come down the stairs, speaking with another woman next to her. She stops talking when she sees you and smiles with a short wave.
"Hi! I'm Ororo. I assume Charles has brought you to us." She reaches her hand out for you to shake it. When your hands interlock you feel a small shock. Your hand jerks back slightly and she laughs lightly, then apologizes. "I apologize about that." You start to speak before the professor interrupts.
"Storm, I have to take her to go over some stuff but, when we are done, she is all yours." You smile at her as he motions for you to follow him. You quickly follow after him as he wheels into his office, behind a bog oak desk. You cautiously sit in front of him and glance around the room. He crosses his hands and leans back slightly. "So tell me about your mutation."
A nervous smile covers your face as you take a deep breath. You lock onto his eyes and feel that familiar feeling warms your skin. Slowly the room changes from the calm school to a dark spruce forest. Fog fills the ground that has turned from hardwood flooring to mossy green dirt. A cool wind and the smell of rain fills your senses as you watch the professor look around the forest. He excitedly smiles as he looks back at you. "An illusionist, impressive."
Letting the room quietly fade back to the office you smile at him with a nod. I clear my throat and speak up. "Yes, along with an immortality factor." You laugh softly, "It's not as fun as it would sound." After many years you don't enjoy things the same and there is only so much one person can enjoy before it all gets boring.
The professor smiles happily before speaking. "I actually have just called down one of my colleagues, I believe you two will get along well, he has similar factors. Your heart races at the prospect. It has been a long time since you have been around someone like you.
You speak with the professor a few minutes longer before the door opens. Charles smiles at the man and you turn in your seat to see the person. Your eyes catch a glimpse of the man and your heart drops. His scratchy voice comes out before you can answer. "Of all the people Charles." Your eyes roll as you scoff. Of course it's Logan, who else would it be?
Charles smiles and glances between the two of you. "You two know each other?" He only seems slightly surprised when he speaks. Logan opens his mouth to speak before you cut him off.
"You still owe me fifty dollars you dick." You stand up out of the chair and laugh as you give him a hug. He laughs softly as he hugs you back. You pull away with a smile as Logan shakes his head.
"If you stick around I will give you the cash," He brushes his hair back with his hand and clears his throat. "You are staying right?"
"I have to head out now," Charles smiles suspiciously as he wheels out of the room, not before throwing out his last comment. "Why don't you show her around Logan." You both hear his smiling tone as he leaves you two alone. That cheeky bastard.

Logan and you walked around the whole school for almost an hour as you both caught up about things over the years. He informs you that he is the history teacher at the school now and has been happy since he joined the school. You see new faces who wave to Logan and send a quick 'Hi' to you. Some of the students send weird glances your way as you walk. You two gradually make our way out to the garden and find a bench to sit on.
"Where have you been?" Your eyes shoot over to him and you awkwardly look at him. "I looked for you." He looks over at you with a small frown on his face. His voice was scratchy and stern as he spoke. Years ago after a tragic accident you had to leave and go into hiding. Putting the safety of others over your life. You and Logan had been together for a few months before you fled.
You look up at the large clouds in the sky as you try to come up with an explanation. "I had to keep everyone safe Logan. I couldn't hurt anyone else. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you." You place my hands on your lap as you apologize to him. Knowing the pain he must have felt was tearing you up inside. You were preparing to get up and leave, not wanting to face his disappointment.
"Promise me you won't leave again." Your eyes met Logans with a sad smile.
You placed a hand on him and smiled. "I promise."
Your head comes to rest on his shoulder as he presses a soft kiss to your hair. The fresh smell of spring covers your senses as he sighs. The feeling of his touch igniting the fire that was put out years ago.
"I missed you."
"Me too."
