Charlotte spent the first night in her bed of her apartment when they returned to Boston. She tossed and turned all night. Chris tried to convince her to stay with him for the night but she thought it would be better for her to return to her own place. They needed some distance. They just spent the last three months living together basically, and it was becoming harder to control themselves. There had been a few photos of her in New York being passed around when she was running with Dodger. He was a popular dog, all of Chris's fans knew what he looked like. Chris had to release a statement saying she was his assistant. It made people back off, because it made sense for his assistant to be taking care of his dog. Now people were going to know who she was. They had to be extra careful in public moving forward. She was his assistant, but they only the two of them knew that she was more than just that.

She eventually got out of bed just after 6, not being able to sleep anymore. She heard a knock on the door as she made coffee. Chris's lips were on hers as soon as the door opened. They were both out of breath when he finally pulled away.

"I'm sorry. I missed sleeping with you. I missed you in my bed Charlie." He sat at the counter and watched her make coffee. At least she was wearing pants this time.

Charlotte turned around and set coffee in front of Chris as he turned towards her on his stool. He grabbed her waist, pulling her to him, "I missed you too Chris. It's only been one night." She groaned as he rested his head on hers. "Don't you have a key? Why did you knock?"

"I was trying to respect your space."

Charlotte laughed, running her hand across his upper lip. "I'm so glad you shaved that ridiculous mustache." She loved making him smile. "And from now on you don't have to knock. You can always just let yourself in Chris."

He nodded, "okay. You can do the same. Anytime. Especially in the middle of the night."

Charlotte shook her head and laughed. She groaned and pulled away from him. "Maybe we need some space. We've been with each other nearly all day for the past 3 months."

"I know you're right. But I don't want space. I want you Charlie. In my bed. Now." He stood up, pulling her to him again, kissing her.

She pushed him away. "I want that too Chris. You know I do. But we can't. Please behave or get out."

"Ugh. Fine." Chris sat on her couch. "I was thinking about taking my family to Disney Land for a week. Can you arrange that for me?" She sat on the couch next to him as he placed his hand on her thigh, "I wanted to bring you, but you know how that'll look. You on vacation with my family."

She ran her fingers through his hair, staring into those eyes she loved so much. "I know. It's fine." She straddled him on the couch as he rubbed her back, "I'm okay having you to myself privately for now. Let me know how many people and when you want to go." She began to kiss him hungrily, she wanted him so bad. She pulled away when she heard him moan.

"As soon as possible. I'm sorry, but I need to get away from you."

Charlotte laughed and stood up. "I know. It's really fine. And it would be nice for you to spend time with your family."

Chris stood up to look at her, "have you talked to Sebastian?"

"I told him I needed space and that I didn't know what I wanted. He never replied."

She sighed as he rested his hands on her waist, "I'm sorry Charlotte."

She watched Chris get up and look around her apartment. He entered her reading room and came back out with the guitar he bought her, handing it to her. "Sing me something before I go?"

She took the guitar and sat on the coffee table, "I said I could play, I never said I could sing."

"Please?" She watched Chris lean back on the couch, watching her. She nodded.

Saw you walk into the room
Thought I'd try to talk to you
Babe am I ever glad you wanted me to
It's been two years to the day
Half the time I've been away
I know I'm not there enough but that's gonna change
Cause I'm coming back
To show you that I'm keeping the promise I made
When I'm with you I'll make every second count
Cause I miss you
Whenever you're not around
When I kiss you
I'll still get butterflies years from now
I'll make every second count when I'm with you
Yeah we've had our ups and down
But we've always worked them out
Babe am I ever glad we've got this far now
Still I'm lying here tonight
Wishing I was by your side
Cause when I'm not there enough
Nothing feels right
So I'm coming back to show you that
I'll love you the rest of my life
When I'm with you
I'll make every second count
Cause I miss you
When ever you're not around
When I kiss you I'll still get butterflies years from now
I'll make every second count
When I'm with you
Whatever it takes I'm not gonna break the promise I made
When I'm with you
I'll make every second count
Cause I miss youWhen I'm with you
I'll make every second count
Cause I miss you
Whenever you're not around
When I kiss you
I'll still get butterflies years from now
I'll make every second count
When I'm with you

When she finished she put the guitar off to the side as Chris reached forward, pulling her to his lap, "you lied. You can sing." He quickly pinned her under him on the couch as she wrapped her legs around him. He kissed her neck and her earlobe, "I miss you whenever you're not around."

A few days later Charlotte let herself into Chris' house as his family waited for her. She smiled at everyone as he introduced his assistant to his family.

She opened her folder, "so I have plane tickets and park tickets on the left. The itinerary is on the right as well as return plane tickets." She closed the folder as Chris went to grab for it. She laughed at him, "no." She looked around the room, "who do I give this to? Not Chris." His family laughed and his mother stepped forward to take the folder. She handed it to her and faced the family, "there's cars outside waiting to take you to the airport, and I've arranged transportation from the airport to the resort."

His mom Lisa stepped forward and patted her on the back and looked at Chris, "I like her. She's very organized."

Chris smiled at her and his mom, "I know. That's why I keep her around." Chris clapped to get everyone's attention, "okay. Everyone start piling in, I have a few things to go over with Charlotte before we leave." Once he was sure everyone was gone he grabbed Charlotte, wrapping her in his arms. "I'm gonna miss you. I already do." He pulled back to look at her before leaning down to kiss her. He pulled away when he heard someone come back into the house. Scott walked into the living room.

He looked from Chris to Charlotte and then back to Chris, "come on. Mom is getting impatient."

Chris looked at Charlotte, "you taking Dodger?"

"Chris. Yes. I have him. I'm gonna take him to my place while you're gone." She placed her hand on his chest, forgetting Scott was watching them, "go Chris."

Chris nodded and followed his brother out of the house. "Assistant, uh-huh."

Chris stopped Scott, "seriously, you can't say anything. She could get in a lot of trouble."

Scott looked at his brother, "you love her." It was more of a statement as opposed to a question. Chris didn't say anything, he just nodded to his brother.
