••• Time Skip •••

After graduating from Welton, Knox went to Harvard to study law and Charlie became a writer, much to his parents disappointment.

Charlie fought for gay rights in 1969, became an activist and wrote books about it.

Knox became a Lawyer and took many gay related lawsuits. He fought for the rights of his community in the only way he knew.

Although he was fired from his workplace for it but with the pretext of "you just aren't what we are looking for".

Knox and Charlie got married in 2004 at the age of 63.

They adopted two dogs and a cat, Knox's parents were disappointed at first but quickly accepted Knox and Charlie.

Charlie still kept in touch with Gloria and Tina who got married a year after they did in a private ceremony.

Knox and Charlie lived very successful lived although at first very rocky.

Charlie suffered from depression from the abandonment of his parents when he came out in 1980 at the age of 39.

He didn't even know his mom died in 1991 until one of his aunts reached out to ask him why hadn't attended her funeral.

Although, in 1998 his aunt gave him a stock of letters his mother had wrote him. He was able to find peace within the letters that explained everything.

He attempted at rekindling his relationship with his dad although at first it was hard, his father came around and accepted him for who he was.

Knox lived the opposite of that, his parents weren't too happy at first but accepted him quickly. Only wanting him to be happy with the person that made him the happiest.

••• 1972 •••

"This is it..." Charlie smiled, looking at the house in front of him.

"This is our forever home, isn't it?" Knox smiled looking at his boyfriend.

"Yes, our one and only. It was insanely hard to get, wonder why." Charlie smirked and Knox rolled his eyes.

"We really moved from New York to California?" Knox asked in a more surprised tone.

"It's the 70s! Best place to be is California, mostly with all the concerts we're going to be attending Knoxie." Charlie winked walking inside their house.

"We could've gone to Oregon, or Nevada." Knox said also entering their home.

"Oh Knox, stop being annoying and help unpack, we gotta sort this out. Your parents want to come visit California." Charlie said grabbing a box labeled "kitchen".

Knox rolled his eyes and grabbed a box labeled "living room".

"How long do you think it'll take?" Knox asked looking at Charlie.

"Play some music!" Charlie shouted.

Knox opened a box labeled "vinyls", and grabbed his favorite album: "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" by David Bowie.

"Yes!! Bowie!!" Charlie shouted dancing to the first song as he unpacked the kitchen stuff.

••• 1982 •••

"It's the 80s!" Charlie shouted with happiness, "I'm releasing the second book of my 7 book series, want to see what I have so far?" Charlie asked Knox who was watching television.

"Oh, yeah, what do you have so far?" Knox asked looking at his boyfriend with caring eyes.

"See, it took me almost half a year just to come up with the concept, It was insanely terrible at first. But I think It's alright now." He smiled showing him the papers, Knox read them.

"I'm also going to a protest later, I'm going to write for the people whose voices are always washed out, giving them a platform." Charlie smiled looking at Knox who continued to read.

"Interesting work here Charlie." Knox smiled.

••• 1992 •••

"The 90s, perfect time to be living in LA, isn't it?" Charlie smiled. He grabbed a vinyl, "California Dreamin'".

"You're very proud to be out Vermont aren't you?" Knox joked and Charlie nodded.

"Of course, everyone there is so closed minded and awful. I like to be free, be who I am Knox, don't you?" Charlie asked looking at Knox.

"I just can't wait for the moment we can get married." Know smiled.

"We practically are, who needs a piece of paper to tell us we are committed to one another?" Charlie said dancing to the song.

"Well, I kind of like the idea, you know. It being recognized under the law and everything..." Knox said.

"Hmmm, well. If you want to get married then we will, the second any of the stares makes it legal we'll go and get married."

••• 2004 •••

Massachusetts had just made gay marriage legal, so Charlie and Knox went on a road trip to Massachusetts where they legally got married at the age of 62.

They had a small party with their closest friends.

Surprisingly Todd and Neil were going to get married the same year just in the winter, Gloria and Tina planned on getting married next year.

Meeks and Pitts ended up marrying women back in the 70s and had kids then.

"Aren't you just glad we don't have kids?" Charlie joked, although deep down he did want kids.

"Yeah, I never wanted kids, Imm so glad we don't have any." Knox smiled wrapping an arm around Charlie bringing him in closer.
