I Found Love (Valgrace)

Chapter One

Jason's P.O.V

"Jason!" A familiar voice called. 

I didn't even move my mouth but I heard my own voice when I said, "I'm here! Where are you?"

"Jason!!" The voice grew louder. 

I screamed someone's name, ripping through my throat. "Leo!!" Huh? What? Why would I shout my best friend's name?  

I saw myself, I saw him. We ran toward each other. It all disappeared and suddenly, him and I were sitting, very close to each other, almost touching. He was looking at me with...affection? No, that can't be it. He got closer to my face but I didn't seem to be pulling away, I seemed to be getting closer. He took my face in his hands. Even watching this made my heart pound. I was feel...completely fine with this, almost like I want it. 

Leo got so close that our lips almost touched. Then it all went black.

I woke up, confusedly. What was that all about? Why did I see myself...? Do I want that? Do I want to kiss my best friend? Leo's gone, so why am I thinking about this now? I never thought about it when he was...alive. It hurts so much to even say his name, knowing that I could've done something more, something to stop him. It was inevitable though, there was nothing I could do but I still wish there was. He died to save everyone, I'll never see him again. Hearing Nico tell Piper and I that he was dead, it broke me. I didn't let it show, but when I was alone, I cried so hard. It broke me like nothing I've ever felt before. It's been days since then, but it still hurts as if it were just minutes ago that I was told. It felt like a knife plunged into me, into my heart. Leo meant a lot to me, I never thought I'd lose him so soon. I wish someone else had died in his place; I wish I had died instead of him. 

I began to cry and didn't stop for hours.

"Hey, dude, are you doing okay?" Percy asked during breakfast. 

I nodded, looking down at my food. I wanted to keep those tears hidden. 

"You don't look okay," he said. "Do you want to go to the Infirmary for a bit?"

I hesitated then nodded again. 

Percy stood up. "Can you stand?"

I nodded for a third time and stood up. 

"Let's go then." Percy walked me to the Infirmary.

"Oh, hi, Jason!" Will said cheerfully. "What brings you h-" He stopped when I looked up at him. My eyes were probably red, puffy, and swollen. "Alright then."

"I don't know what's wrong but he won't talk and he wouldn't look at me," Percy said. 

"Alright, come with me, you're going to rest for a bit," Will ordered.

Nico popped in before Will started to take me into the Infirmary. "Hey, Will, what is taking so long?" Once Nico saw my face, he said a quiet, "Oh."

Before I knew it, I was on a cot with a blanket. I closed my eyes nearly instantly.

"Jason?" 

I recognized the voice almost instantly; it was Leo's. I looked down, he was standing right beside me. He had a smile on his face and his dark brown eyes were bright.

"Yeah?"

"I'll be home soon," Leo said. "I promise." He then hugged me. He's hugged me before but this time, I didn't want him to ever let go.
