Leo's P.O.V

"Alright, let me grab and extra pillow and another blanket," Jason said, leaving me sitting on his bed. He has quite a few blankets on his bed already, why does he need more? Maybe he just wanted to get away from me? That's probably why.

"Okay, here's another blanket and pillow," Jason said, breaking me out of my thoughts and tossing the blanket and pillow at me.

He laid down with a thump and a tired sigh. "Why couldn't you have waited until, like, 8am to arrive into camp?"

I shrugged, putting the pillow down. "Guess I just couldn't wait." To see you, I added silently. I just couldn't wait to be with him again, after so many months, after about half a year.

I laid down beside him. "Yeah, I probably should've waited. Sorry about that."

No reply from Jason.

"Jason?"

I sat up and looked at him. At first I thought he was dead but then I saw him breathing. He was asleep. I let out a sigh of relief and laid back down again.

I'm safe. He's safe. I'm here. He's here. I'm awake. He's asleep.

Jason's P.O.V

I pretended to sleep, I was wide awake now. Leo's here now, he's alive. Now that I know that, I can rest easy but I'm afraid of the dreams that will haunt me. The dreams of him and I. Does he ever dream about me? Probably not. I want to ignore those dreams but I can't. I'm sick of denying that isn't what I want because I do want that but I'll never have it. I wish I could talk about it, Nico and Piper know, yeah, but really talk about it. I'd never be able to tell Leo for more reasons than one. I can only imagine what he'd think and do if he finds out. I just can't take that risk, that hit. I've lost enough already, I don't want to lose more. I don't want to lose my best friend just over something as stupid as a crush.

I drifted off with difficulty. I fell asleep probably three hours before we had to get up.

I was awoken by movement. I felt something shift next to me. I opened my eyes, I saw the back of someone.

Leo.

"Mmh."

I sat up. "Wake up," I whispered, grabbing him by the shoulders and shaking him. "Wake up."

He turned to face me, squinting. "Jason, wha...?"

"Time to get up," I said. "Wanna have breakfast or no?"

Leo sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes and yawned. "Man, that was the best sleep I've had in months."

I wanted to ask if it was because I'm here but it's most likely because he's back home and safe.

Right?
