Leo's P.O.V

I shifted from side to side that morning, trying to shake the gnawing anxiety inside me. Of course, it didn't work, it almost never does. Those dreams...every time I see Jason, I just think of them and have that strange feeling like I always do. I don't know what I want or what exactly to do about it. Should I explore or should I leave it alone? I just don't know anymore.

I felt my eyelids closing in on themselves. Maybe a little sleep...

"You're home," Jason said, giving me a heartwarming look. It made my heart race. "I've been waiting so long for you."

I hugged him. "I know you have. Thank you."  His eyes, full of affection. I'll never forget that look.

Then it was gone. I couldn't feel his arms around me anymore, I couldn't feel his presence at all.

"Aww, so sweet," a female voice said. I knew that voice. I turned and saw her.

"What are you doing here?!" I spat.

The goddess chuckled. "I'm surprised you never noticed me by now."

"Go away!" I hissed. "Leave me and my friends alone!"

As if she hadn't heard me, she said, "And I always thought you were observant. Guess I was wrong."

"What do you want from me?!" I shouted. I felt myself getting angrier. "You want to mess with my memories again?!"

She didn't answer, just held my gaze. Then she finally said, "No. But I do have a proposal."

I was almost afraid to ask. "What is it?"

"You sacrifice one thing you love most and get another lost loved thing in return."

I knew what she wanted. If I took the offer, she was going to want me to sacrifice Jason for something.

"I can see you're thinking about it," she said. "I'll give you time to make up your mind. But tick-tock, your time will be up tomorrow night."

Then she disappeared.

I woke up confusedly. Did that happen? If it did, I wasn't going to take the bait. I can't.

Or could I?

I was woken up by Jason shaking me by the shoulders.

"Wake up," he said. "Wake up."

"Jason, wha...?" My brain was still fogged with sleep.

"Time to get up," Jason said. "Wanna have breakfast or no?"

I sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes and yawned. "Man, that was the best sleep I've had in months." It's true. I hardly ever slept well when I was traveling back. I woke up frequently and sometimes in tears.

Jason didn't say anything back.
