I Found Love (Valgrace)

Chapter Eleven

"Hey, are you okay?" Jason asked. 

I looked at him with tired eyes. "Yeah."

I could tell he didn't believe me. "No, you're not. 

I sighed. "Jay, I'm fine, really."

Jason held my gaze then shook his head. "Nope. Still don't believe you."

I rolled my eyes. 

"I just want to make sure you're okay, y'know?" He said, knocking his shoulder against mine. "I care about you."

I smiled. "Really?"

Jason chuckled. "You're my best friend, Leo, of course I care." I could tell the way he said 'best friend' was forced, I'm not sure why. 

"I'm glad I have you," I said without thinking. "My life would probably be even more of mess if you weren't my best friend."

I could've sworn I'd seen Jason blush. "W-Well, I love being your best friend."

Oh, so we're starting this up? Hm. "Jay, can I talk to you about something?"

His blue eyes lit up. "Sure. Anything."

I took a deep breath and my heart pounded. I'm doing this. "I, uh..." Oh great, I can't talk. The one time I want to talk, I can't. "Well, uh, you see, um."

Jason gave me a look of confusion and worry. "Leo, are you alright?"

I nodded. I scratched the back of my neck. "I've wanted to tell you this for a while now and, um..."

"Tell me what?"

My face felt hot and my stomach was in knots. I looked down at my shoes, I don't want to see his reaction. 

"I like you," I mumbled.

"Could you repeat that? I can't hear you."

My breaths grew shorter. "I like you!" I burst out. "I have a crush on you, okay?" 

"O-Oh."

I looked up with tears in my eyes. "I know you probably don't like me back and that's fine. Just tell m-" I was then cut off by lips pressing to my own, just for a mere second. 

My eyes widened at Jason, whose face was now red. 

"You...you...?" 

Jason nodded. "Yeah. I feel the same."

I almost couldn't believe it. He likes me back. Jason Grace likes me. 

"Wanna go out with me?" I asked without thinking, my face growing hot. 

Jason smiled. "Yeah."
