"I don't give a fuck Deontae! They can't fucking do that." Kenadi frowned, on the phone with Pooter.
"Kenadi I'm tryna be cool with you, but you better watch your motherfucking mouth. Do you understand me?" He said into the phone, and she rolled her eyes.
"Yes but I'm not tryna hear that Deontae. You expect me to be cool when you just told me they tryna pull the plug on my sister? Are you kidding me?" Kenadi quieted her voice down, not wanting to wake Kairi up from her nap.
"Ken it ain't nothing I can do baby. I don't know what you want me to do." He rasped, and she felt tears brim in her eyes.
"Deontae you can't let them do that. Please figure something out Tae, they can't do that." Her voice cracked, and he sighed.
"Okay Ken. I got you baby, just don't cry. I got it, okay? Don't be crying please." He said, and she sniffed.
"I'll be up there soon, just don't let them do that Pooh. I can't lose her." Kenadi pouted.
"I won't. I love you baby." He told her, and she wiped her face.
"I love you too pooh bear." She mumbled, before hanging up.
Arms snaked around her waist, and she jumped.
"David quit sneaking up on me like that!" She whisper-yelled to him, and he chuckled.
He had just got back from working, and Kenadi didn't even hear him come in.
"What you crying for mama?" He frowned, wiping her face.
"They tryna pull the plug on Nana." She mumbled, and he sighed, wrapping his arms around her in a hug.
"They can't do that Serene. Don't stress yourself out about it. We was just up there, and she got brain activity. The only way they can legally do that is if she has zero brain activity. They can't do that without her mama permission." He told her, and she nodded, wiping her face.
"Thank you pa. I needed to hear that." She smiled at him, and he returned it.
"Can I have a kiss then?" He asked, and she stood on her tip toes, pressing her lips against his.
He gripped her neck, slipping his tongue in her mouth and she wrapped her arms around his neck as he picked her up, sitting her on the counter.
"I need to feel you mama." He grunted, kissing her neck and she bit her lip.
"No baby, watch out." She laughed, pushing him back.
"Why?" He pecked her lips twice.
"My baby here." She said, and he tilted his head to the side.
"Kairi over here? Serene you been had her all week I thought you took her to my moms yesterday." He laughed, and she shrugged again.
"She told mama D she missed me, so I went and got her last night." She said, and he shook his head.
