Three weeks later.
"I didn't even get to tell him I was pregnant." Kenadi mumbled, looking at the clean tissue as she sat on the toilet.
She was making sure the bleeding had stopped, and she hadn't seen any blood the last week, and she was glad that was over.
"I'm sorry Ken." Deontae stood in front of her, and she shrugged, cleaning herself off, pulling her panties off after flushing the toilet.
She started some shower water, stepping in.
"Can you get in with me?" She asked, rinsing her body off.
"Kenadi y-." He started, and she cut him off.
"Please?" She looked up at him, her soft tone and eyes locking him in a trance.
He pulled his clothes off, stepping into the shower with her.
She leaned her head on his chest, the miscarriage she'd had the day after Dave passed, on her mind. He wrapped his arms around her neck as she hugged his torso.
"Kenadi I'm sorry about all of this. So much been happening to you the last few weeks, and honestly, ion know how to help you baby. But I'm here for you, you hear me? I know it's a lot of shit going on, but don't lose yourself please. I'm not gone tell you to stay strong, cause I don't want you to. I want you to accept your emotions and be weak for a lil bit. But shake back mama. You hear me?" He rubbed her scalp, and she smiled.
"Thank you Deontae. I'm trying so hard papi. I really am." She mumbled in his chest.
"I love you." He told her, and she pulled his head down to hers, kissing both of his cheeks.
"I love you too, thank you." She rubbed his face as he looked down at her, and he nodded, kissing her forehead.
She rubbed her finger against his side, feeling her eyes get heavy. She hadn't been crying the last 3 days, because she was tired of crying. Her face was puffy, and her hair was thrown into a messy bun.
Deontae bathed himself, and then bathed her, stepping out of the shower.
They dried off, before laying in the bed together.
"I was so ready to be a mom. He didn't even give me a chance to tell him." She rubbed her silver heart necklace that had Kairi's ashes in it.
He wrapped his arm around her waist, as they both laid on their stomachs, facing each other.
"Thank you for being here for me, for just listening to me when I cry, and for keeping my secrets." She mumbled, and he smiled.
"You know it's whatever for you Ken Doll. Forever." He told her, closing his eyes.
She scooted closer to him, leaving no space between them, and closing her eyes as well.
"I know papi. I love you." She said, placing her head in his neck.
