Two weeks later.
"David please calm down." Kenadi frowned, sitting crisscrossed on the floor, watching him punch another hole in his wall.
Since Kairi had died, he'd been on a random killing spree, been arrested, and put 12 holes in his wall. He had been over working his body and not eating, taking drugs, stressing Kenadi out.
He shook his fist, hissing, before sitting on his bed.
"I'm sorry Serene." He rasped, his face in his hands as his leg shook.
Kenadi stood up off of the floor, wrapping her arms around his neck as he silently cried.
Neither of them had yet to fully process Kairi's death, even after her funeral. Everybody had been checking on the two of them, but they'd isolated themselves, only wanting to be around each other.
Kenadi kept her parents updated, but besides that, her phone had been powered off. She still had yet to tell Dave she was pregnant, she just couldn't find the right time. Neither had she brought up him sending the hit out for Comethazine.
The last few days he had been smoking, trying to keep himself high and out of his feelings because he was tired of crying.
He felt like everything was his fault, he had failed his mom, and now his daughter, his favorite little girl.
"I keep replaying the shit in my head, trying to figure out what I could've done different so my baby could've still been here." He mumbled, and Kenadi didn't say anything as she kept her arms around his neck.
He pulled her down in his lap, laying his head on her shoulder.
"I didn't even get to say bye to my baby. I didn't even get to see her in the hospital. I miss her Kenadi." He quietly spoke, kissing her shoulder.
"I know baby. I do too." She whispered, silent tears flowing down her face.
"Was she awake when it happened? Or no?" He asked her.
She hadn't spoke with him about Kairi's last few moments, it just wasn't a conversation that had been brought up.
"Uh, when I walked in there, she called my name. She said mommy, and I just broke down. I wanted to help her so bad, but I couldn't. I told her I was sorry, and that I loved her, and that we all loved her." She cleared her throat, wiping her face.
"And her, oh my god. Her, um, machine started beeping real slow, and she looked at me. And she didn't look like she was in pain baby, she was holding on to my finger so tight. She said 'Love you mommy", and then she was just, gone. I couldn't do anything to help her Cairo I'm so sorry." Kenadi shook her head as he hugged her.
"She loved you so much Serene. I'm so thankful for you man, helping me with my baby. Kairi damn near liked you more than she liked me." He chuckled, and she smiled, nodding.
