The glass shattered as it hit the ground. The pieces of broken crystal littered the polished floor like silver glitter.
"No.....no...."
His black eyes widened in horror at the Daily Prophet.
"No....no...no!"
Slapping the paper down at the table, Severus rushed to the fireplace. Snatching up a fistful of Floo Powder, he dashed it into the fireplace. The green flame appeared.
"Hogwarts!"
Sev immediately found himself inside the Headmaster's office.
"Albus!"
Albus looked up, face sombre.
"Severus. Take a seat."
"Seat my ass! What about Lily?"
"Severus--"
"Tell me the news is fake! Tell me!"
Albus sighed.
"I am afraid not."
It seemed as though all the life had left him as he slumped onto the chair, at a lost for words.
"No....no...."
"Severus--"
"No! You said you will her safe! You said so! That's what I risked my life for! For her!"
And again, it seemed the life had left him.
"For her....."
Then, he sprung up from the chair and and rushed to the fireplace.
"Severus where are you going?!"
"To bring Lily back!"
