y/n's pov
"alright, just take it slow. don't rush it."
the doctor said as i lifted myself up to stand, my hands holding onto the railings on my sides,
"i can't feel my leg."
"just try, alright? that's the whole point. to try and get feeling back into it."
i slid my hands along the railings, one of my legs stepping forwards while the other just hung behind me. i tried everything in my power to move it, but nothing.
"it's not working."
"that's fine-"
"no."
i snapped,
"nothing has changed, i still can't feel it, everything i try never works, so how is it fine?"
i said breathlessly,
"the healing process takes time, for some years, others, months. it's different for everyone."
"i know, i'm sorry. it's very frustrating."
"yes, it is, but i promise when the time comes, everything will go right."
i nodded my head,
"do you want to try this again or something else?"
"something else, please."
i'm beyond frustrated. nothing was working, it just seemed to be staying the same. iwas in this place everyday, trying to get better, and nothing seems to have changed. i'm getting tired of not being able to do anything, i can't even walk without someone watching me. i feel useless.
timeskip:
"how was it today?"
i looked over at my aunt,
"it was okay."
"you say that everyday."
"well, what do you want to hear then?"
"i don't know, maybe something like, 'it was awesome, i had fun!'"
"i'm not going to lie to you, auntie."
I paused,
"i'm not getting better, i still can't feel my leg and i'm not progressing. they keep telling me i'm doing better and that i'm getting better, but just for once don't lie to me. am I really?"
