After a few more weeks, UA was finally ready to open up again. And I have to say, it was a nice refresher to my life. It was nice to be back on campus and around classmates again, and it was especially great to be back on track for my goals again.
Though, the atmosphere was definitely different. Things seemed normal, but things felt a little off. And I knew why... With Nosido gone, rumors were bound to sprout up. He already was having a rocky time before the attack, and with him now disappearing to join the league. Not many knew about why Nosido was missing again, even I don't know. But it was bound to come up at some point.
I was sitting at my normal desk in class, which was slightly towards the back. Which let me see where others were and if they were talking or not. Zota was still seated towards the front next to where Nosido used to sit, But Kina and Sakura had moved a desk or two closer to us. That guy that Nosido got into our class, Akane. He was in the back corner on the other side of the class from us.
As more of our classmates funneled into class, their eyes would quickly be caught on Nosido's empty seat. A few of them stared for a few seconds before grouping up with their friends, murmuring between themselves. My curiosity was starting to get the better of me, but I resisted the temptation to go and eavesdrop. That was until someone stated something louder than they should have.
"I hear that he finally lost it, he already was having such a rocky time here. His mind finally broke."
"Wouldn't be surprised after all that he's gone through, he was kidnapped and all that by them."
"Maybe he didn't go crazy?" The group of friends looked over to the last one who spoke, their brows raised curiously. "Think about it... He was kidnapped, right? Maybe he made a deal or was forced to do something for them, his brother Satsuo is missing now too isn't he? What if they left together to join them?"
"That doesn't really make sense, didn't he lose it on his brother back at the festival? Why would he leave with him?"
"Come on, everyone gets pissed at their siblings every now and then. But they're brothers, that bond is hard to break, even if they only knew they were recently."
"That's not a bad theory... Plus he always seemed to be on the verge of losing it. I had a room next to him on the boys side of the dorms and I could sometimes hear him crying..."
I was starting to get sick of hearing it, glancing away from the group to try and ignore them. But as they kept going on, I could feel anger building up in me. I was about to stand up and yell when someone beat me to the punch. I heard a chair skrt back across the floor on the other side of the room.
"Hey, asshats! How about you just shut the hell up about it, don't talk about things you don't understand one bit. He was dealing with more than you guys ever would in your entire life, so don't go making shit up about him." I looked over to see it was Akane who had stood up, he had a pretty tense glare on his face aimed directly at the classmates who were gossiping. They all looked to each other before responding.
"Sorry... Hard not to talk about it..." I could tell they didn't mean it, it was one of those uncaring sorry's that you would give to someone when they got mad about you making a joke. This caused Akane's glare to tighten a bit before he shook his head, pulling his chair back and sitting down again.
The classroom was quiet now, apart from maybe the occasional whisper and someone shifting in their chair. The door to the classroom soon opened, Bakugou-Sensei stepping into the room and looking around at everyone.
"Alright, the hell's making you guys so quiet today?" His gaze shifted around at the class before it then fell on Nosido's empty seat, sighing. "Nevermind, look. He's gone, get over it. Talking about it wont change anything, we have things we need to get done." He closed the door before heading to the front of the room, leaning on the podium. "Now that school's back in session, we need to make up for lost time. So, today we'll be working on you guys figuring out your super moves."
