Chapter 51 Illusions of Fear

Kion started covering his eyes as all he kept seeing was his friends being killed by Scar, "STOP IT!!!!" Kion shouted as his voice broke. Kion started to back away but his back hit the wall and he winced as he fell and when he looked up his eyes widened in fear seeing Scar. "WHAT DID I TELL YOU KION!!! YOU CANNOT BEAT ME!!!" Scar claimed as he slammed his paw down and Kion was struck down. Kion tried to punch Scar but it just went through and Scar laughed evilly, "You have no power Kion! You're Weak! Useless! THE WORST LEADER!!" Scar kept hitting Kion over and over. Kion held his paws around his head as he whimpered every hit he took and tears ran down his cheeks.

Kopa's ears raised hearing sobbing and whimpering and when he ran over he froze in confusion. All Kopa was seeing was Kion on the ground acting like he was being hit as he was sobbing on the ground. Kopa quickly wiped his eyes as he shed a tear seeing his brother like this and he ran over to try and help but a paw whacked him and he went back. "Where are you going, Prince?" A cold and eerily voice called. Kopa gulped as he saw Zira with her claw out and he started getting memories of the day Zira took his life. Kopa shook his head, "This isn't real-" Kopa's cheek was cut as Zira slapped her paw across his face. Kopa shuffled back as he was on the ground as blood on the ground. 

"Looks real to me," Zira grinned evilly as her eyes lit in the dark smoke, Kopa paused as his heart started to beat really fast as all this was too familiar. Kopa covered his ears shaking his head, "No! Raider trusted me to-" Zira smashed her claw into his face and Kopa yelped as he hit the wall. Kopa's vision got blurry but when he looked at his brother he clenched his paws and stood back up and growled at Zira. 

"NO!!! THIS ISNT REAL!!!" He roared,

Kion's P.O.V

Was that Kopa? Is he really here? or is this just another trick of Scar's I don't know anymore my head is throbbing in pain and my body is stinging everywhere. What was I thinking.....I am a failure....stuck in the Spirit world...my friends are going to die....Y/N's gonna die because of me. I couldn't get those thought out of my head. It's poisoning my head and my heart is burning. I love Y/N with all my heart.....I love my friends....and now both are gonna die.....because of me....I can't beat Scar.....I...I....I.....I....never could......

The darkness around Kopa and Kion grew closer and Kopa peaked over, "No Kion! KION!!! IT'S KOP-" Zira covered his mouth and started to choke him. Kopa out of panic started moving around quickly trying to pry Zira off as she was trying to cut off his air circulation. "I don't get it it's not real but it feels so-" Kopa paused thinking. "I'm in denial......" Kopa thought to himself as a tear was shed. Kopa looked at Zira as he still flinched, "I'm scared of Zira.....I'm horrified of her....but Kion needs my help....." Kopa opened his paw as his claw was out and he smashed his paw into Zira's back and it hit her. 

Zira rolled off letting go and Kopa started coughing and gasping for air and he looked at his claw seeing no blood meaning this truly was an Illusion. Kopa still flinched as he tried to face Zira and she stared at him evilly just like on the night she killed him. Zira started to chuckle evilly, "For the Last Guardian of this world you look frightened." Kopa exhaled and looked up at her trembling lightly, "I-I-" he paused unable to figure out what to say to her.  Zira just laughed in a cynical way and it sent shivers down Kopa's spine. Kopa glanced at his brother on the ground trying to fight Scar's Illusion and he exhaled. "To save my brother I need to face my biggest fear....the Lioness that murdered me." He looked up at her as Zira charged for him and he got ready to fight. Smoke started to form blocking Kopa's view of Kion as the smoke tried to separate them.

As Zira proceeded to slash, Kopa raised his claw to block, "Vitani would be ashamed." Zira called and Kopa let his guard down and froze. Zira slashed at him and Kopa went flying into the wall as he coughed from the collision. Kopa laid his paw to get up but Zira's claw went into his paw and he shrieked in agony. Kopa started to cry as he felt defenceless as he was gonna get killed for a second time. Kopa's tears started to reach the ground but he paused thinking about Vitani, "Vitani...." Zira elevated her claw to attack but Kopa headbutt her away and when he did so Zira's other claw pulled out and Kopa flinched as it happened. Kopa shook his head and wiped his eyes, "I LOVE VITANI AND I LOVE MY FAMILY!!!!" He roared loudly and Zira backed up as the illusion faded a little.

Kion's ears raised as he heard Kopa roar and he stood up quickly looking around in the dense fog but Scar stood in front to attack. Kion's eyes swelled as he got hit and he rolled into the wall yet again and he whimpered. Kopa roared once again and he headbutt Zira as hard as he could and the Illusion flew into a rock and turned into vapour when it hit. Kopa shook his head looking around seeing his wounds never existed and he quickly ran into the smoke to find Kion. 

"KION!!! LISTEN TO ME!!! IT'S NOT REAL!!! IT'S ONLY AN ILLUSION OF WHAT YOU FEAR THE MOST KION!!! YOU MUST FIGHT IT KION!!!" Kopa yelled since he couldn't see Kion anymore due to the mass amount of smoke. Kion took a few moments hearing that but Scar chuckled evilly, "YOU CAN'T DEFEAT ME KION!!!" Kion tensed his paws shaking the pain off and he looked at Scar with tears. "OK FINE!!! I AM AFRAID OF YOU!!! I'M SCARED OF WHAT YOU'LL DO TO MY FRIENDS AND Y/N!!! I'M OKAY WITH GETTING HURT BUT HURTING MY FRIENDS HURTS ME MORE!!! I CAN'T LET YOU DO THIS!!! I'M THEIR LEADER!!! I'M THE LEADER OF THE LION GUARD!!! I'M KION!!!!" He yelled as loud as he could and he put his paws onto the ground as he channelled the roar.

"DON'T BE A FOOL YOU HAVE NO POW-" Before Scar could finish his sentence Kion roared and clouds formed above the smoke as a heavy amount of wind shifted the smoke away hurling Illusion Scar into Pride Rock and upon impact the Illusion dusted. Kopa's eyes widened looking down the path seeing majority of the smoke clear as he heard the roar. "KION!!!" Kopa yelled as he ran to get to his brother. Once Kion stopped the clouds vanished and he exhaled heavily and when he looked around his body the wounds were gone. Kion wiped his eyes and looked at his paws but he was tackled by Kopa. Kion's eyes widened seeing Kopa and Kopa nuzzled him.

 "KION!"

"KOPA!" Kion wailed nuzzling back,

Kopa got off and helped Kion up as they smiled, "Sorry I'm late Kion." Kopa apologized but Kion still smiled. "Hakuna Matata Kopa....you've helped me more than you think," Kopa raised his paw and messed with Kion's mane. Kion looked up a little as Kopa messed with him and he smiled seeing his brother. The black beam above Pride Rock started to concentrate as it looked more control and Kopa ran off.

"KOPA!" Kion shouted,

"COME ON KION!!! WE HAVE TO SAVE YOUR GIRLFRIEND!!!" Kopa shouted,

Kion clenched his paws as he ran to catch up with Kopa and he looked towards the Outlands seeing a white beam in the air. "Y/N I'm coming!! I won't leave you ever again!!" Kion swore as both Kion and Kopa raced towards the Outlands to get to the cave.

Beshte kept running as they were in the snowy terrain now and Rani ran after Beshte seeing Kion on Beshte back and she was thinking. "I'm such an idiot how did I not piece together Y/N and Kion are together. I need to correct my mistakes this is my fault....I tried to take Kion away from her...." Rani was lost in thought but she snapped out of it hearing a growl and when she looked behind her she saw Scar.  

"Rani how close is he?" Beshte asked,

"Keep running Beshte!" Rani called,

Beshte listened as he kept sprinting for the Shrine and Rani smirked seeing Scar roll in the snow as Fuli hopped onto Scar's head briefly. "Fuli is one tough cheetah," Rani thought seeing how brave Fuli was to pounce on Scar. Scar jumped back up and growled at Fuli, "I'm really starting to hate you!" Fuli smirked.

"Good! Now you know how I feel about you Scar!" Scar growled from that comment and he lunged at Fuli to kill her.
