I put the chicken into the pan and hear the satisfying sound of the oil sizzling. A few drops of oil had popped onto my hand, but I'm used to it. I wanted to make sure Travis had some food when he got back from work. I was off today so I decided to do some things around the apartment. After 2 months of being together, I made the decision to move in. So I wanted to make sure I was doing my part around the place. I had cleaned the living room and our room. I still have the thoughts that he would leave, but he hasn't shown any signs that he's unhappy. Travis is smiling 90% of the time we're together. We have our ups and downs, but we're able to work them out. I'm honestly glad I chose to move in because it gives us the chance to talk at the end of the day after our long and grueling hours at work. With me taking care of a child and him managing a store, we're both tired at the end of the day, but we still make time to talk about our day.

The door opens and our roommate walks in, "That smells amazing! What're you making?" She says setting her bag down on one of the counter bar stools.

"Chicken Parm," I say smiling at her.

I set a piece of chicken onto a place and put some marinara on it and I slide the plate towards her. "You didn't think I forgot about you, did you?" I Say chuckling.

"Aw, you're so sweet." She moves the plate closer to her, "Thank you."

"Of course." I put another piece of chicken into the pan.

After making our meals, I hear the door unlock. Talk about good timing. I set the table and he walks in to see me placing forks down next to the plates. "That smells amazing." He says walking towards me with a smile. Our roommate had already made her way to her room, where she spends most of her time if she's not out and about.

He comes up from behind and wraps his arms around my waist. I smile and I turn to face him. He leans in for a kiss and I do the same. I smile at him and he sits down.

"Want anything to drink?" I ask, walking towards the fridge.

"Yes please!" He exclaims.

"Monster, Dr. Pepper, Or Red Wine?" I opening the fridge.

"This seems like it'll be great with some red wine." He says smelling the food.

I grab a beer from the fridge and I walk towards the wine cabinet and grab the Pinot Noir. I take the bottle and a glass to the table. Before sitting down I place the cup next to his plate and pop the wine cork out of the bottle. I'm not a fan of wine, but opening a wine bottle is so satisfying to me. I pour until there's about two inches of space from the rim of the glass. I place the bottle down at the middle of the table and I take my seat, twisting the cap off my Corona.

"So how was work?" I ask cutting a piece of my chicken and taking a bite. I definitely made this the way it's supposed to be.

"It was good. Had to train a new employee that's taking over my old position." Travis takes a bite and moans.

"I'm glad you're liking the chicken," I say smiling at him.

"This is amazing. I knew you could cook, but damn this tastes so great." He says smiling back at him.

"What did you do today?" He asks me, taking another bite out of his chicken.

"Well, I cleaned the living room and organized our room a bit. That took up most of the day. I went for a walk around the complex and I just relaxed a little." I take another bite.

"I noticed that you cleaned. I'm glad you got some time to relax." He says reaching across the table and placing his hand on mine.

I look up at him and I smile. Here we are again. How is it that you hurt me so bad but ended up being the cure? The impact you have had on my life is at large. You make me happy and sad. You annoy and anger me sometimes. Over the past two months, we've had a few arguments, but we never went to bed angry or with a grudge. We always find a way to compromise and figure things out. My whole life was a storm and you shared your umbrella. No, you were my sunshine. My light in the dark. I couldn't see a future before you, and now that's all I see. So the smiles I flash at you are genuine because you make me the happiest person on Earth.
