Izuku hadn't expected to see a panicked Eri run out of the nurse's office when he approached it for his daily visit to Kacchan. The two of them hadn't really talked about what happened yet, but Izuku wanted to wait until Katsuki was fully recovered and not under the influence of pain meds anymore. Eri's eyes instantly met Izuku's and it was clear that she was crying. Small sparks of energy danced around her horn, but it seemed to calm down as Izuku ran up to her.
"Eri, hey, is everything okay? What's going on? Where is Lemillion-sama?" Izuku asked worriedly. Mirio senpai was supposed to look after her, wasn't he? He wasn't the kind of person to leave her wandering alone at school, so that meant something must've happened.
"I-I'm so-sorry!" she cried, not resisting the hug Izuku offered her. He picked her up and held her close, desperately trying to comfort her."Hey, it's okay" Izuku whispered, trying his best to suppress his worry in front of her. He couldn't have her freak out even more. No, he had to find out what happened and why she was here to begin with.
"I'm here now so you don't have to be scared, okay? Can you tell me what got you so upset?"
"K-Kacchan..!" she cried, making Izuku tense up.His eyes shot towards the nurse's office and he vividly remembered seeing Eri run out of there. Only two possible options ran through his mind. Either Kacchan had yelled at her and made her upset, in which case Izuku was gonna give him a piece of his mind. Or something happened and Kacchan got hurt, causing Eri to freak out. Neither of those options were good though...
Izuku didn't realise he activated his quirk until the green sparks disappeared again. Kacchan was lying unconscious in his bed, Eri's drawings and pencils lying forgotten on the ground, as well as a dark green notebook. Izuku's head shifted towards Recovery Girl's desk, but the woman was nowhere in sight. He carefully put Eri down and ran over to Kacchan, wanting to make sure he was alright.
The heart monitor didn't show any changes in the pattern that displayed Katsuki's heartbeat and no other alarms were going off either. His intravenous drip had come off though, but Izuku didn't find the place where it would normally enter Kacchan's arm. Wait, his arms! The bandages had gotten loose but there was no sign of scarring anywhere! Izuku quickly unwrapped him in order to test his theory, only to find Katsuki's body in prime condition. His injuries... They're all gone...
His eyes widened and he quickly looked back at Eri, who was still sniffling.
"I-is he hurt..? Did I... D-did I h-hurt Kacchan..?" she asked quietly. Her quirk must've activated... It was the only explanation for all of this! His body was probably rewinded to a time before he injured himself, before he exposed- Izuku stopped his train of thought for a moment.Would he still have his quirk..? Eri was capable of resetting the body into a state before a quirk was present, so it was possible? Or maybe she reverted him to way before then, before he lost his quirk? No, that was impossible. They'd talked about this. Eri wouldn't be able to return his quirk once it was stolen. That would implicate quirk multiplication and that's not how this worked.
But Kacchan's quirk wasn't stolen right now so did the same rules still apply? Izuku wasn't certain... Nobody would be until Katsuki woke up and they could assess the full situation. Which meant there was no point in dwelling on the what if's right now, definitely not while Eri was still upset and they weren't under adult supervision. So Izuku tried to push those thoughts aside for the time being and focussed on Eri.
"Kacchan is okay, Eri-san" Izuku said, trying to cheer her up.
"You didn't hurt him, you actually healed him! I'm sure he'll feel a lot better when he wakes up!"
"R-really..?" she sniffled, wiping away some of her tears.
"Yeah, everything will be just fine, I promise" Izuku nodded, picking her up and putting her on his lap as he sat down.
