"NO, MILES." AMARI said walking slightly in front of him as they made their way to the cafeteria to get their dinner along with the other students who stayed at the dorms.
"Ari, come on, listen to what I'm trying to say." Miles pleaded, trying to get the girl to understand his point.
"No."
The teenager furrowed his brows as they both sat down at an empty table, their food sitting in front of them. "Why not?" He asked.
"Because, how do we know we can trust him, huh?" She asked now looking at Miles who sat across from her.
Miles looked down at his food not sure how to answer her question.
"Exactly." The girl said leaning back in her seat.
After their encounter with Miles' Uncle the night before the two had been arguing non stop.

"Uncle Aaron...?" Miles asked as the man took a step forward.
"Miles-"
"What do you want?" Miles interrupted, anger laced in his tone.
The man sighed while rubbing his forehead. "Look, I know you're annoyed with me right now but I need you to listen."
"Why?" Miles asked. "So you can lie to me again and tell me it's complicated?"
Amari stood there while staring at the two males. She felt so out of place in the conversation but she couldn't walk off even if she wanted to.
Miles had grabbed onto her hand and unknown to him, he was squeezing it, tightly, to the point where it started to hurt.
Aaron sighed again, sadness in his eyes. "Listen, I'm sorry, okay?"
Miles shook his head while taking a step forward attempting to walk away. Aaron reached his arm out blocking the teenagers path.
