AMARI SAT ON her bed and clicked on the link Kei had sent her earlier. A video came on and it was the news, she clicked play and watched.
"Sad news today, the hero known as Spider-Man...has died"
Amari looked down as the memory of the previous night came flooding back. Throughout the whole day she had felt a sense of guilt due to the fact she wasn't able to help Spider-Man.
She felt useless and she didn't like that. At all.
She couldn't let go of the fact that Spider-Man was really gone. A lump rose in her throat as sadness threatened to overwhelm her. So much "if only" or "I should have" thinking ran through her head.

"...Multiple sources are confirming that Peter Parker, a 26 year old grad student..."
The video was cut off as an incoming call from Miles appeared on the screen. The girl picked it up and placed it on speaker.
"Have you seen the news?.." Miles asked from the other end of the phone.
"Yeah..." Amari mumbled.
"Okay, get dressed I'm coming to your dorm, we're going somewhere" Miles said and Amari could hear some shuffling.
"Okay"
Amari walked to her closet and picked out a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie and wore her usual Jordan's.
She walked to her balcony and saw Miles standing there with a backpack on his back. The boy turned to Amari and motioned for her to follow him as he started making his way down from her balcony.
"Where're we going?" Amari asked.
Miles glanced at her before answering "We're gonna buy some costumes then go to MJ's speech."
