She took her kids and walked along and away
The distance between them and the farm grew great
It was the first time Iris was 10 miles far from that place
It was the first time Iris was that far from her grave
It cost her a little more pain to abandon that place
Like taking out the ancient dagger from her skin so pale
But the pleasure of a healing scar would soon overtake
Jackie's footsteps echoed peace
David's grin revived the buried
Iris' heart could finally heal
It was free from anxiety and evil energy
The beach house was soon in their sight
After walking miles under the night sky
The sun painted the night sky shades of light
The same way that house lit up Iris' eyes
She ran with the wind to the savior of her life
A little beach house she couldn't bear leave behind
In a few seconds her feet were sunk in the sand
Her hands caressed the white wall of the shack
Her senses absorbed every inch of the beach paradise
She hardly knew if it was another dream or real life
Jackie and David laughed and ran after Iris
Her daughter smiled at her and said, "we're fine"
Jackie couldn't detect any single lie, curse, or sin
She felt in control of a healthy and normal mind
David lay on the sand with a peaceful grin
He didn't really understand what had happened
But it felt good to see his mother find it easy to live
Iris walked to the water leaving restful footsteps behind her back
The ocean washed her body from everything she carried from her past
She threw in all of the happenings she lived in her life before
She could feel her broken heart sinking leaving a peaceful smile afloat
Her wounds were stitching
Her soul was healing
Her pain was fading
And peace was reigning
Her kids' laughter layered with the ocean's voice
It's like her heavy heart was now hollow void
Her soul soaked in pure aquamarine joy
She could finally pause, breathe and grow
