Chapter 27

Serenity

I am so excited, Glenn finally allowed me to get a part-time job at Wyntech! At first he didn't like the idea of it but why? It's easier than searching online for hours and I get to see him.

My heart fluttered at the thought.

The business suit I had on was as crisp as a new banknote and dyed to a uniform shade of bleak grey. It's so comfy, fits like a second skin. I sipped on my laté for a moment, staring ahead about this private property.

I'm probably going to need a map to find where I'm going.

These buildings posses the most beautiful architecture I have ever seen in my lifetime, they're so astonishingly tall and eye-catching. The nature was lush and abounding as well.

I find it hard to believe that man is capable of putting them up. They look like they have plunged from God's hand and landed at one spot. I didn't know Wyntech Incorporation was this massive.

I'm going to be late since I am unable to find the sales department.

"Hey!"

I turned to see a guy running up to me in a suite, his brown windswept hair was frizzy and he grabs his knees panting.

He straightened himself extending a hand to me.

"I am Jeremy, nice to meet you."

I took his hand and he shakes mine a bit too hard, he clears his throat.

"Sorry. I actually just got hired." he says, trying to catch his breath, "I'm pretty lucky, it's very difficult landing a job here."

"That is great. I am Serenity, I will be working here part-time, um, do you happen to know where the sales department -"

"That's where I'm headed. I can take you there." he offered with a kind smile.

"Thank you. I really appreciate that."

We were probably in the same age group. He was staring at me for a long moment and I wondered if I got lettuce stuck to my face from break fast.

"Is something on my face?"

He quickly struts off, pretending not to hear my question. I followed after him, a bit confused. That's so weird.

We made it to the sales department just in time to see everyone entering this huge room, with tons of chairs. The air conditioning was colder than mount Everest!

Jeremy snakes his hand around my shoulder and I glanced at him, he grins.

"You'll feel better once you get used to it." he whispered.

"Oh, okay. What are we doing in this room?"

I inquired, seeing others briskly taking their seats, he was still holding my shoulder for some reason.

"We'll be having a meeting where the CEO will be addressing all the new employees, including us."

He explains and we both seated ourselves. My heart was making rounds inside my chest and I broke out into fresh sweat.

The CEO will be speaking with us, that means I'll get to see Glenn. I wipe my forehead, trying to squeeze the pinching nerves in my fingers.

"Please everyone, take your seats. We will commence the meeting shortly."

A man announced, he tried to usher the moving crowd into a single file.

"Who is he?"

"That's Fenton Grant, he's the direct chairman." he responded, giving me a brochure, "Look! He's finally here."
