"I would like to inform all of my students that we lost one of our most beloved students." The whole class start to gasping out of shock, and I'm in a grief stage all of the sudden.
"No…. This isn't true… I don't believe it… She died….? No no no…." It's heartbreaking, I know she's alive somewhere, I'm sure of it, she's strong! At that point, I urgently left the classroom, to go to the place where we often hang out.
I arrived at the place, with a little hope that she's waiting there, but nothing. I sat on the nearby bench, and started to grieve about her loss.
Without notice, I had grieved until night, and at that point I had to get back home safely, only to be encountered by none other than…. bullies. Did they wait for the right moment to appear?
"Your precious Fu Hua is gone, Y/N. You know what that means?"
"Leave me alone. I'm in no mood to talk to you" Please just let me go home, but they just replied no and the mobs just started to restrain me.
"You think we're going to let that pass? 'Cause tonight, you will suffer more!" He started to punch me in the face, leaving me black marks on my cheek. At this point, I don't care if I'm dying or not, so I let them be my punching bag.
I'm hurted so badly, physically and mentally. A minute passed, and at this rate I will--. Suddenly, two of the bullies that held me decided to release me for some reason, and I fell to the ground, groaning in pain. I can't see what's happening, but I can hear…. flock of crows?
"Ahh damn, you pesky birds! Get away from my face!
"Shoo! Shoo!"
"Arghh, boss! There's too many of them!"
"It's just birds, guys!"
Crows keep coming at them, assaulting them, dropping wastes on them, as if they know who I am and protecting me from provokers.
"Boss! Let's get out of here! We can't deal with it, it's too much!"
"I'll remember this, Y/N!"
and finally they decided to evacuate, though the crows were still chasing and attacking them.
I tried to stand up with all of my remaining strength, and I did, but barely. I retrieved my bag, and started to make my way back home. I should thank the birds for saving me….
Thank god, I had safely arrived after about 1 hour of walking. I went into my room, and immediately rested on my bed without even changing my filthy clothes. Finally, I let all of my pain and pressure release, and I started to cry out of misery and pain.
"I'm sorry, Fu Hua… I've failed you… I'm doing my best as I can without you… even if it means bad…. I'm sorry…" Now, I slept slowly, until my eyelids closed shut.
Birds are chirping outside of the world. I woke up, closing my eyes for a second, opening back again, only to realize that it's still 4 o'clock in the morning.
My body is slowly recovering, it still hurts as before, but I can bear it. I went out of my room, making my way to the living room, and took my first aid kit. It feels so different when Fu Hua heals me, it may be the same process, but just so different. I guess I have to be more independent from now on.
I don't know why, but I feel like I wanted to return to that place, the chirping birds…. are they what I think they are? Maybe just for one last time? Screw it, I'm going back now.
I went to the typical place where me and Fu Hua are always resting, but all of the sudden, I saw something that I thought it's a dream….
A girl dons a white and black dress with a green scarf wrapped on it, familiar hair color, and her face…. She looks exactly like Fu Hua, but with her long braided hair. She's feeding the birds, or to be exact, the crows from yesterday presumably.
"Excuse me…?
"Hello there."
"Are you really Fu Hua?"
"If I say yes, would you believe it?"
"Am I dreaming….?"
"Would you like to get hit until you return back to reality?"
This can't be real! All this time, she's still alive. Damn you Hua, you almost gave me a mental breakdown.
"Fu Hua!!!!!" I started to run towards her, and I cried of happiness. I hugged her, she hugged me back and I cried on her shoulder.
"You're still alive! I'm so glad you're alive! But how?" She scratched my back softly… it feels good….
"I'm immortal. More interestingly, I can have a very fun time if I'm hanging around with you. I will always be by your side, Y/N."
"Don't do that, Fuka…. But I'm glad you're still alive and well…." I hugged her tightly, not wanting to seperate. She didn't seem to mind, so she hugged back.
"What are you going to do now?" I released the hug but was still holding her shoulder. My, it still feels so soft…. She held my waist.
"I don't know….. But I think I'm just wandering around in this city, as long as there's your presence."
"Fuka… You mean a lot to me…."
"Me too…. You're my light. Be my wing on your back." We both held our forehead, enjoying this moment. Birds are chirping in excitement, as the sun starts to rise up.
