The sun shone brightly in the sky, warming the air to the perfect temperature. I laid back on the cushioned lounge chair with my sunglasses resting on my nose, sighing contently at the gentle breeze on my skin. My peace and quiet was soon interrupted by heavy footsteps and two big splashes. I giggled as Loki and Thor cried out, jumping into the swimming pool.
"Be careful you oafs, you almost splashed me." I said, smiling. Loki laughed, shoving Thor playfully and smacking the back of his head. Tony walked outside accompanied by Clint, Steve, and Wanda. "My apologies Lady Y/N." Thor said, his voice ringing loudly in the air.
I shook my head and turned my attention back to the book in my hands. Wanda made her way over to the chair next to mine, plopping down with a huff.
"It's way to hot out here for this," she groaned. I chuckled, sliding my bookmark in and turning to her.
She wore a pair of sunglasses like mine, and a maroon bikini with black athletic shorts. Her hair was pulled back into a high ponytail with no intention of getting wet.
"Then why'd you come out here? To see Th-"
She slapped her hand over my mouth and I howled with laughter, causing the entire team to look over at us. I laughed so hard that I couldn't breathe, gripping the arm rest for support. Once I had calmed down, I noticed everyone still looking at Wanda and I.
"What?" I asked, still recovering from my laughing fit.
Hours passed, the sun starting to set in the sky, and the fairy lights Natasha and I had hung up two weeks ago now brightly shone, filling the balcony with light.
I had moved from a lounge chair to sitting on the edge with my feet in the water. Wanda and Thor were sitting on the other side, Tony and Steve were fighting with noodles in the water, Clint was eating, and Loki was walking towards me with a smirk.
"Don't even think about it Laufeyson."
He pouted, taking a seat next to me.
Suddenly, Loki jumped straight up with a girlish scream. My eyes flew open, searching for any signs of danger, everyone else doing the same. "What is it brother?" Thor asked.
Loki pointed frantically to where he had been sitting moments ago.
A small brown spider crawled towards me and Loki screamed again. I chuckled, holding my hand out and letting the small creature climb onto my hand. Loki's eyes widened. I held my hand up and examined the poor thing.
Nothing more than a house spider. Very common.
"It's just a baby spider Loki. Nothing to be afraid of." I said, looking up at him. He watched my every move with wide, emerald eyes. "Kill it!" He wailed.
I rose from my seat, Loki moving farther away from me, and walked to the rooftop garden, placing the spider on a plant and turning back around with my arms crossed.
"I will do no such thing. It's an innocent creature."
Loki skeptically eyed the plant before huffing and angrily sitting back down on the edge of the pool. I rolled my eyes and smirked, sitting next to him.
I leaned my shoulder against his and got close to his face with a teasing grin, "Aww is the God of Mischeif scared of a little bug?" I cooed. Loki glared at me, huffing again and turning away from me. I giggled, resting my chin on his shoulder.
"Don't be a big baby about it."
"I'm not being a baby.." He murmered, pouting. I grinned as he continued, "I just don't like crawly things." I wrapped my arms around his waist and laughed. "You're adorable Laufeyson."
He rolled his eyes playfully, turning around to face me and grinned, "I better be."
