(The fact this got reported is so funny to me)
I kept hearing rumors around the city of a fallen salesman that lived in the dumpsters of the many alleyways across cyber city. His tale being he was once a big shot, on top of his game, before it all came crashing down to the point where he disappeared, and the world forgot about his very existence.
The story always intrigued me, my mind begging the question of if it was real. I often snooped around, looking through the dumpsters for the slightest sign the story was true, that he was real.
After months of searching, I began finding patterns and hints, pillows in dumpsters, covered-up advertisements from long ago.
I was finding something and I felt like I was so close to revealing the truth, to finding the mysterious salesman.
...
It's been months since I first heard of the tale, and I was still looking. Yet slowly losing hope, beginning to think everything I've found has just been a series of strange coincidences...
but every time I felt hope slipping I would stare at an old advertisement I found on an alleyway wall."C'mon... You have to be out there." I muttered to the advertisement as if I expected it to reply.
'If he wasn't real, why would this advertisement exist??'
I started getting angry, mainly angry at myself that I couldn't solve this silly mystery.
Maybe he's long gone, ran off somewhere different, maybe even dead.
"Ugh." I kicked the wall regrettably, feeling the sudden stinging pain in my foot.
"Ow..." I hiss, quickly grabbing onto my foot while trying my hardest to balance on the other which inevitably lead to me falling on my ass.I scrunched my nose at the pain, pursing my lips together as an attempt to stop myself from yelling.
"Could this day get any worse?" I whine, giving in as I laid down on the cold alleyway floor.
I closed my eyes for a moment, feeling lost and exhausted from my hunt for the salesman. 'Where do I go next... I don't have any leads to bring me to my next clue..!' I mentally shout, subconsciously furrowing my brows in the moment."Having a rough day? [Turn That Frown Upside Down!]"
A voice startled me back to a sitting position, swinging my head around I find the source. my eyes met with a man sitting in the dumpster, watching me through multicolored glasses, his black hair swept back in a professional kind of way.
I stared at him, gears turning in my head.
"Yeah...says the guy sitting in a dumpster...." I comment, beginning to stand up, dusting off the back of my pants.
'Dumpster...'
'...dumpster?'
