Chapter 14 [Back to Home]

[Location: Palace of Berlin]

It was already morning. The king of Prussia awaked, he stand up from his bed and went outside of his room. He talked to both of the guards who are guarding his room outside.

Wilhelm: "Yawn" I can't sleep well last night. Both of you, tell me. Did I just hear something that I shouldn't hear last night?

1st Guard: W-We hear moans last night, Your Majesty. It's from upstairs, maybe from our guest?

2nd Guard: Should we call them down and talk to you, Your Majesty?

Wilhelm: No, no need to do that. I understand them. Besides, maybe both of them tired, let them rest for a bit longer. By the way, where is my uniform?

1st Guard: It's inside your room, Your Majesty.

Wilhelm: "Sigh" I'm getting old already. I even forget the simplest thing I can remember. Now you two can go downstairs, I'll be coming soon.

Guards: Understood, Your Majesty.

The guards then went downstairs and the King went inside his room to dress himself in his uniform. Meanwhile, at the couple's room...

Granger waked up first, but decided to sleep again because of too tired. Guinevere were still sleeping beside him, she seems to be more tired than Granger. But just after a few minutes, Granger wakes up for real this time, and give Guinevere a kiss on her forehead.

Granger: Wake up, dear. It's morning already. Today we'll go back to France.

Guinevere: Hmm... Even if I wake up, I can't even stand, how do I suppose to walk and run?

Granger: I'll help you, now get up.

Granger slowly pushes Guinevere's back to help her get up. Both of them still sitting on the bed.

Granger: You really can't stand up?

Guinevere: You think I'm joking?

Granger: Okay okay hold on. Let me get down of this bed first, and I'll help you stand up.

Granger stand up from the bed and went beside Guinevere. Granger hold Guinevere hands and pull her slowly to stand up.

Granger: There you go, looks like I need to hold you all the time.

Guinevere: I don't think so, actually I feel much better after standing up. But sitting and lying hurts.

Granger: If you say so. Take a bath, so as I'm on the other side. There are two bathrooms in this room.

Guinevere: Okay.

Then they take a bath and dressed up. They went outside of the room and locked it before heading downstairs.

Granger: We need to do something with those hickeys. I can't let you go in the public with a neck like that. Here, borrow my coat for a while, It has high collar, probably enough to cover it.

Guinevere: Thanks, I was just about to say it.

Guinevere wears the coat and they went downstairs. They walked to the main hall and joined the king's dinner. They seat just infront of the King and behind is the high ranking military man.

Wilhelm: I appreciate you joining us in our dinner, Granger and Guinevere. Enjoy the meals, don't be shy.

Granger and Guinevere: Thank you, Your Majesty.

Soon the king asked a weird question to Granger infront of the huge crowd.

Wilhelm: I'm sorry for asking this, Granger. But do you mind if I ask what are you doing last night before sleeping?

Granger stopped eating for a moment, so as Guinevere.

Granger: I'm sorry, Your Majesty. But that is private question. Can we perhaps talk about something else other than this?

Wilhelm: Right, it's private. Again I'm sorry. I can't sleep for a while last night. We can talk about your coronation to become a French Emperor now.

Granger: Excuse me, Your Majesty? Did I misheard? You saying about my title striped as a Emperor, right?

Wilhelm: No, Your coronation as a Emperor. It's your father's wish, he said it before he died.

Granger: If can I don't want to be a Emperor, Your Majesty. I just want a normal life.

Guinevere just hear what are they talking about.

Wilhelm: I afraid you don't have choices, Granger. Perhaps you didn't knew that your younger brother is sick now. I mean something more serious than ordinary sick.

Granger: What!?

Wilhelm: Calm down, I expected you to be shocked after hearing this.

Granger: How many I need to lose to get a normal life? First my father, and now my younger brother? How about my mother?

Wilhelm: Your mother is alright, but she is shocked with your younger brother condition. Therefore that's why I want you to be a Emperor. But with one condition, don't make any more wars.

Granger: I followed my father to war not to volunteer helping him, but I was forced, I don't want war, but I have no choice since it already started that time.

Wilhelm: Very well then, do you agree?

Granger: I need to think more, what do you think, dear?

Guinevere: If you really have no choice, but I'm afraid we can't visit father and mother back at Land of Dawn. Since we will be busy taking care of France. I'd say we have no choice but to agree.

Granger: "Sigh" Alright then. Your Majesty, I agree to become the Emperor of France.

Wilhelm: Very well, all of the kings in Europe will come to France to see your coronation, since no one supports the French king anymore. The coronation will begin tomorrow morning, I suggest you two to go back to France and be prepared. I prepared a carriage outside for you two, it will head straight to Paris. We'll see each other again tomorrow morning, Granger. And also you, Guinevere.

Soon they finish their meal and went outside with their things and went in the carriage. A three days journey across Netherlands. And entering the French border and finally, Paris. They went out of the carriage and stepped back home. The citizens and the French military men cheered for the two after they went out of the carriage. They were many shouts, for example, "Behold, our true Emperor!" "Long live the Emperor!" Long live France!"

Granger: Looks like we got some big celebration of my return, dear.

Guinevere: Of course, dear. You will be the Emperor of France.

Granger: Let's just walk to the Palace, shall we?

Guinevere: Okay.

Granger and Guinevere went to the Palace while holding hands, and the citizens know they future Empress. After the two arrived at the Palace door, the Guards opened the door for them.

Granger: Huh, weird. Looks like they are expecting me to be Emperor.

Oudinot: My Emperor, nice to meet you!

Granger: Are you guys expecting me?

Oudinot: We heard the news from Prussia. Anyways, let's head inside.

Then the three went inside and the Guards closed the door.
