CHAPTER 14

"I am reading it , don't spoil it but when him and his friend are running to the border ,don't you think it was a bit uncalled for." He said taking a bite of the appetizer.

" Don't think so , I think it was okay , because war has no fairytale ending nor does a prison escapee one has to die for the other to live." She said taking a bite of the appetizer she hummed as she tasted the snack it was amazing , he was happy she liked it.

"You like it." He said looking at her , she nodded with a smile.

"I see where you're coming from but they could've used a strategy and they way he forgets about his girlfriend just like that." He said drinking his cocktail.

"I know right , I thought he would miss his girlfriend but she wasn't even part of the picture." She said as she took a sip, he liked spending time with her , it had been bugging him that he only book he read No one read it.

"So what else do you do besides watching sci-fi males and breaking things." He said with a smile.

"On normal days I go to the spa with my Chihuahua for a massage then I get my nails done." She said with a very girly voice , he smiled at her impression.

"They aren't sci-fi, and I like walking and doing adrenaline rush stuff." She said looking at him. The waiter came to take their orders for the main course he got mexican tomato rice with checken tenders and he ordered chicken and been enchiladas. They continued talking and he would share some dad jokes which made her laugh , he would give cheesy responses which she would not at and he loved how silent she become when he said stuff like that.

The food came and she loved it, she even asked the chef to and a recipe and he only gave her the first half of it then told her to come back for the other half. They were both having an amazing time getting to know each other more , he really had a tough exterior but he was more open around her. She was getting out of her shell too the hormones must have been boosting her confidence , if it was any normal day , she would've have given her date a tough time and made him sweat with questions.

"Oh Guys it's James." Axle said walking towards them , he rolled his eyes , soon his friends sat by the table with them adding chairs.

"Hey guys." He greeted with a forceful smile , she greeted them too and looked at James.

"Are we intruding your date?" Roger asked looking at James , who was rather annoyed.

"No we were just leaving." James replied with a smile,  Roger nodded and scooted off.

"Maria I'll meet you at the car." He said handing her the keys , his friends looked surprised he never gave anyone his keys. She took them and said goodbye to his friends , she put her coat on and walked out.

"Loverboy you thought you could dodge us huh." Roger said with a smile , James rolled his eyes.

"You really are happy and we like that she makes you happy." Axle said patting his shoulder.

"We might have been shitty dates to her in the past I don't speak for myself but on Gideon and Rogers behalf, but you can tell she is right for you." Saint said looking at him then Maria who was sitting in the car.

"So what we are saying is we won't tell anyone about your crush and we approve of your crush." Arsenal said looking at him, he nodded.

"So I appreciate this really but why couldn't you say this at home and not now." He said looking at them.

"You're that whipped huh." Gideon said with a smirk, they let him go and he jogged to the car and got in.

"We all regret being d*cks to her , she was totally worth it." Saint said watching them drive off they nodded and walked to their cars heading to a party.

"Thank you for dinner." She said as they got into her house , he nodded and sat by the sofa.

"You're welcome , do you want to watch anything?" He asked scrolling through channels.

"Do you watch the oval by Tyler Perry?"She asked sitting next to him , he shook his head no.

"Okay let's watch a movie then." She said as he scrolled through. Theu settled on Spiderman far from home. Both of them were commentaries when they found out about mysterio.

"Oh no , when is the next one coming out?" She asked as the movie to finished, he took out his phone and began to search.

"December that's two months of waiting." He said putting his phone on the counter. Theu both sighed , they all hated waiting.

"I better get going now I have a long day tomorrow." He said getting up, she stood up and walked him to his car.

"What's there tommorow?" She asked as he got in the car.

"I have to go to Greece for a meeting then meet some architects with Roger there too." He said with a sigh.

"Rich people problems." She said with a smile, he chuckled and looked at her ,she was leaning against the window.

"Goodnight Maria." He said with a smile.

"Goodnight James." She replied softly , he drove off and the gate closed with the security standing next to it , she chuckled nd got back I the house and locked her doors. She removed her clothes and wore an oversize t-shirt and went to bed.

James arrived to his house and his friends were there all of them patiently waiting to here what went down.

"So did you kiss her?" Saint asked looking at him,  all of them eager to hear , he chuckled and walked up the stairs.

"My 20 dollars gentlemen I told you he didn't." Arsenal said walking around and collecting the money.

"This isn't a soap opera." James said looking at them they hummed ignoring him and they began to place bets on how long it would take for him to make a move.

He packed his took and went to the airport with Roger and they ored their plane for Greece. He looked at his phone and as he guessed she sent a message wishing him a safe trip, he smiled and turned of his phone.
