He looked into her eyes as she moved aside letting him in , she closed the door and locked it.
"Its nice to meet you in person." He said sitting on the sofa and looking at her.
"Nice to meet you too." She said looking at him , there was awkward silence for some minutes and she could feel him starring at her.
"So what is it you wanted to talk about?" She asked mastering the courage to look at him.
"I've been thinking and I would like to be in the child's life." He said looking at her she processed the words.
"I don't mean this in a rude way but why the sudden change?" She asked crossing her legs , she then thought of being hospitable.
"Sorry before you explain would you like tea a drink or food?" She asked looking at him.
"Some tea and biscuits would be nice." He replied , she went in her kitchen and began to make some tea after 5 minutes she came back with a tray and biscuits her and Rosalia had made.
"You were saying." She said sitting across from him with her legs crossed, he took a sip of his tea and nodded it was good.
"In the past few hours since the donor process I couldn't stop thinking about what it would feel like to be a dad and I don't know it's up to you really." He replied , the truth was because his mom don't stop pestering him about seeing her.
"Who am I to stop a father from seeing his son." She said with a shrug obviously every kid needed a dad.
"Okay thank you very much." He said looking at her , she nodded and looked at the T.v.
"So where is your girlfriend?" He asked sipping his tea.
"Excuse me." She said looking at him.
"The lady who you were with at the hospital." He said looking at her.
"That's my cousin." She replied looking at him , then shook her head ,she wondered if her child would be socially awkward like their parents. She smiled and looked at her belly.
"A penny for your thoughts. " He said looking at her, she looked I to his hazel eyes then her feet.
"I was just thinking about , nevermind." She said looking at him.
"You know someone once told me that nevermind is a rude word because you're indirectly calling them stupid." He said putting down his cup and looking at her.
"When you put it like that." She whispered.
"So what is this that I must nevermind?" He asked looking at her.
"I was just thinking if...our child would be socially awkward like us." She said looking at him, he smiled he liked the ring of it ,our child.
"I'm not socially awkward." He said placing his hand over his heart.
"You are , you literally spent 10 minutes staring at me and not saying a word then asked where my girlfriend was." She said with a smile.
"Its never a crime to look at something beautiful and I'm used to someone starting the conversation." He said with a shrug.
"Sure DiCaprio." She said leaning into her sofa he watched and she could feel it.
"There you go again starring." She said closing her eyes. He was about to rebut but burnt his tongue with tea she looked at him as some of the tea drizzled on his t-shirt she laughed covering her mouth she doing a good job at covering her real laugh. He looked at her and rolled his eyes.
"I'll get you some kitchen paper." She said walking to the kitchen she took the paper towel and handed it to him.
"You enjoy the discomforts of others." He said as he wiped his t-shirt , she smiled and looked at him.
"No you were starring and starring is rude." She said walking back to the kitchen with the tray. She placed the dishes in the dishwasher and walked back.
"Well ill be taking my leave now." He said looking at her.
"Before you go I have a question." She said looking at him he hummed.
"Who told you about me and interogatting people?" She asked her curriousity raging.
"You went on a few blindates with some of my mates and they would have to stories of Maria the interrogator." He replied looking at her , her face went from pissed to calm in a matter of seconds.
"Oh have a safe journey." She said closing her door and locking it , he walked to his car and looked back, she could see him from the living room. He got in his car and drove off.
" Maria The interrogator? Me ! They were the ones who showed up smelling like cheap female perfume." She huffed going to her room. She played her Toni Braxton playlist as she finished cleaning her room. She decided to go for a walk she wore her trainers and vest and locked her house and began blasting tune as she walked. She got to the park and sat by a bench , she saw families taking their sunset stroll with their kids , she saw couple pushing a stroller , she nodded and took out her phone and began reading a book on pregnancy.
She felt a light tap on her shoulder and she looked up , there was man he was no even breaking a sweat but you could tell he was running for hours. She removed her ear pods.
"Hey it's getting dark you should start heading home." The man said with a smirk she nodded and stood up.
"Thank you." She replied with a light a smile , began to walk in step with her she increased her pace and he did the same thing.
"Why are you following me?" She asked stopping he did the same thing.
"If you've stayed here all your life you'd know that being a woman alone at night in this park is dangerous especially if you're pretty." He said with a smile , in her tears of being in the game of flirtation she never bothered to give him a satisfying reaction.
"Thank you for your care but I'm sure I can make it back safely." She responded then walked slowly , him keeping with her pace , she looked at him and a little laugh escaped from her lips.
"What's funny?" He asked looking at her.
"I just came to a conclusion that men suck at starting conversations." She said looking at him.
"We don't we just forget when we see a pretty face." He said looking at her , she remained silent and continued walking.
"Is that a counter most men use." She replied raising her eyebrows he chuckled and continued walking with her.
"Its not." He replied his deep base coming to play, she nodded and they walked in silence.
"What where you reading?" He asked after some silence.
"A mother's pleasure during pregnancy." She replied looking at him expecting a reaction.
"You're expecting?" He asked his calm nature overpowering her.
"Scientifically yes , but I just have to wait for a month to see if I really am." She replied with a smile.
"You used the donor process." He stated connecting the dots in his head.
"Yeah , in fact I actually did yesterday." She replied looking at him.
" What made you do it?" He asked as they walked through the entrance gate of the park.
"I got tired of guys being awful at starting conversations." She replied with a smile and he chuckled and nodded.
"I'll try polish up my skills." He replied , she let out a small laugh.
"Thank you kind sir for escorting me out of the deadly park at sunset hours." She said with bow, he smiled.
"Anytime." He replied looking at her.
"I'm Michael by the way and you are." He said introducing himself.
"Maria , nice to meet you." She said with a smile , he nodded, they stood in silence looking at each other.
"We'll I'll take my leave." She said then walked the opposite direction heading to her home, she could feel eyes piercing her back ,she turned back and saw him looking at her.
"Starring is rude Michael!" She shouted with a smile and continued walking , he shook his head and began to jog in te opposite direction of her, heading to his home.
