"Noooooooo! Braaaaaanch!" Poppy screamed out in pure terror, seeing her friend falling away from her. She reached out to grab him, but he was already far out of her reach. "Branch!"
"AHHHHH!" Branch screamed, tumbling down through the air. "Poppy!"
He fell towards his untimely demise, screaming out in terror, when a spout of water suddenly shot up out of the river like a geyser, catching the little grey troll, and pushing him back up to the top of the cliff.
"AHHHHH!" Branch screamed, as he flew up into the air. "AHHHHH! Poppy! Help!"
Gravity grabbed hold of Branch, sending him plummeting back down towards Poppy. "AHHHHH!"
"Branch!" Poppy yelled, looking up at him falling towards her, as she spread her hair out like a mattress.
Finally, Branch landed safely on Poppy's hair, before bouncing off and falling to the ground, as the water fell back down into the river below.
"Ow..." Branch groaned, as he held his eyes shut, laying on his stomach.
"Branch!" Poppy yelled, quickly running over, and falling down to her knees beside him, as she help him sit up. "Branch, are you ok!?"
He shook his head, trying to chase away his dizziness, before finally looking up at Poppy, who stared at him with a worried expression.
"Umm... yeah... I... I think so," he replied, still breathing heavily, as his voice shook. "Th... thanks... for... uh... saving me..."
He looked away shyly, blushing slightly, before looking back at her.
"How... how did you do that?" he finally asked. "With... with the river?"
"But... Branch... I didn't do that," she admitted. "The water did."
Branch raised an eyebrow in confusion, slowly crawling over to the edge of the cliff, looking down at the river far below.
"Umm... thank you?" he called down to it, feeling ridiculous for talking to water.
But... to his surprise... the water began to move up towards him, in a long, snake-like way.
Branch's eyes widened in shock, as he jumped slightly, slowly backing away from the snake-like water creature.
"Uh... umm..." he stuttered, scared of the water slowly moving closer and closer to him.
"Whoa..." Poppy muttered, amazed by what was happening, Branch however... was terrified out of his mind.
He scooted backwards, until he backed into a tree, no longer able to move away from this mysterious creature coming towards him.
The water snake went up to Branch's face, as if looking at him closely. It seemed to be curious about the little grey troll, but at the same time... it seemed as if it knew him it's whole life...
"Wow..." Poppy said, her eyes sparkling in amazement, as she walked over, looking at the crystal clear water which was currently sniffing Branch curiously. "Cool."
"Umm... y... yeah... so c... cool," the little grey troll stuttered nervously. "Please... go away. Go," he said, trying to shoo the water away, but instead, it plopped itself over him, scooping him up off of the ground.
"Mmm!" Branch mumbled, holding his breath, his entire body now under the water, as it began to take him over the cliff.
"Branch!" Poppy yelled, quickly whipping he hair forwards to grab onto him.
The long strands of pink hair wrapped around Branch's waist, Poppy trying her best to stand her ground, and pull Branch back to safety, but the water pulled her along with it and Branch, flinging them both over the edge of the cliff.
"AHHHHH!" she screamed, falling into the deep canyon.
