Mate

The pack of misfits, also knows as the beacon hills pack, stand around the table in Dereks loft. Derek had called a pack meeting, even though he wasn't alpha he was still the only one there who was born not bitten, he felt that he needed to inform the others of some other werewolf things he hasn't mentioned before.

"Mates?" Scott says questioningly

"Yes, every werewolf has one." Derek says getting a few confused looks.

"How do you know who your mate is?" Liam asks looking very intensely at Derek, which was making Derek sort of uncomfortable.

"You feel attracted to them, drawn to them. You find your way back to one another no matter what" he states

"Who's your mate Derek?" Stiles jokes

"None of your business" Derek growls back

"Ok jeez sour wolf" Stiles pouts

"Sometimes you can't always tell straight away that their your mate. Your mate isn't always a werewolf" Derek continues "the more dominant of the two mates, or the werewolf, will mark the other by covering them in their scent"

"Is that why Liam smells like That one guy from the other pack. What was his name? Brett?" Malia blurts out

"What are you talking about there is no way Brett is my mate, you have to be attracted to them and protect them. I couldn't care less if He died" Liam defends

"Yeah but it makes sense you left that school and came here. Before that we didn't have matches against them that often but now we're  against them all the time" Scott says, thinking out loud. (A/N sorry I can't remember the name of the school and I'm too lazy to google it so if you know can you comment it)

"That's actually.... Why I brought it up." Derek says looking at Liam slightly apologetically

"Nuh uh. No way. He's not my mate" Liam says walking away, but before he could get too far Isaac who had been silent grabbed his shirt and pulled him back

"You don't get to choose your mate. Trust me if you could I wouldn't have the mate I do" Derek says

"Ooo so sour wolf who got so unlucky to be your mate? Hmm?" Stiles teases only getting a growl in response from Derek

The meeting ends and Liam doesn't hesitate to storm out. He gets in his car and thinks about what Derek said about being marked. Stupid Brett marked me. What the hell! He thinks as he starts his car heading to give Brett a pice of his mind

"Oh come on pleeeeeaaaaasssseeee tell me" Stiles begs

"No stiles" Derek says sternly

"Why so touchy about it" Stiles pouts

"Fine Scott what about you?" Stiles turns to Scott who's sat on the sofa with Isaac

"What about me?" He looks up from his conversation

"Do you have any idea who your mate is?" He asks

"No not really" Scott replies shrugging and turning back to Isaac to continue what they were talking about

"Oh come on Derek please tell me" Stiles begs again

"NO" Derek growls

"Can you give me a hint? Are they human or werewolf?" Stiles pushes

"Fine but only if you shut up" Derek says just hoping Stiles will leave it

"Yes of course! Now tell me" Stiles was practically jumping now

"Their human" Derek says earning a sort of squeal from Stiles "now shut it" he says and Stiles salutes in response

"Hey do you guys think Jackson's mate is Lydia or Danny?" Isaac asks from the sofa

"I don't know he was with Lydia a long time but I think they broke up, and him and Danny do act like a married couple" Stiles says  and Scott nods in agreement.
