Why are students not allowed to chew gum in class?
Of all the dumbest rules out there, this HAS to be one of the dumbest!
What is so bad about chewing gum?
Who does this effect that badly for it to be banned?
I've never understood this.
That is why all throughout school, I would chew gum in class and what's more I became really good at hiding the fact that I am chewing.
I would never get caught, whereas other people would.
Really though, what does chewing gum even do?
One of the coolest most chill teachers I've ever had would often say,
"As long as you're not having a full-course dinner I don't care."
That has to be one of my most favourite lines I've ever heard from a teacher!
She was the only one who didn't go batshit crazy when we were eating snacks in class (as long as we cleaned up after ourselves and quickly disposed of the evidence --> (the food).
Sometimes, she'd even ask for one if we had chewing gum or sweets or something.
That's why I say "If a rule isn't logical at all, DON'T follow it! Pretend to follow it so you don't get into trouble." -> like I did with the chewing gum rule
