Do you cringe when you read past works? I do.
~~~
We were set up on a blind date.
In the restaurant, while I was
being escorted to my table, I
silently prayed that it would be
him. He looked like honey and
I was yearning to be drowned
in him.He smiled as I sat down,
then went on to say "I got
you flowers, I hope you like
them".
I didn't have a specific type I
loved, so I was open to any.
He brought out Rupi Kaur's
The Sun and her Flowers
and Purple Hibiscus by
Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
Shocked! I said thank you.The rest of the evening birthed
laughter and an uproar of raw
emotions. For those hours, I
totally forgot how much of a
mess I was. I wasn't trying to
stay present and not get lost in
the fog. I was happy.~~~
