LOVE was supposedly magical, they say.But due to the wretched environment that Eunseo grew up in, she was barely able to believe the conviction that grew around the subject that was love.
For years she was in a heavy debate with herself; whether to trust the opinion of those who were lucky enough to go through the beautiful phases of love without any dramas, or whether she should consider the fact that love was only desirable during the first few years into a relationship.
How could she even believe in such a supposedly magical thing? Just how when the downfall of her parent's divorce and daily arguments rang inside her head, aggressively planting their ill marks inside her mind where she feels the most vulnerable?
However, all those long debate with herself, the plaguing questions that filled her head went idle when she first met him.
Him.
Oh how wonderful it was meeting him.
Lee Heeseung was such a charismatic guy who seemed to know her very well when they first met. She used to think he was a know-it-all type of guy before but apparently, he was just very good at reading people.
It didn't matter that she would act cold and aloof around such an incredible guy but he would be there to ease down the walls that she'd built around herself, long before she was even aware of the enigma himself that was named Lee Heeseung.
They first met during her second year of college. He was a senior of one year, a Business major who had the student body swooning around him and his little goons like they were some type of demi-god worth worshipping over.
She decided that she didn't liked him right then and there. Not only was he a know-all but she thought he loved to act all sweet and mighty judging from the hold he had over the other students.
In the middle of her sophomore year, turns out, he was just really really nice, and sweet and thoughtful, and good at almost everything; including breaking through her icy persona that kept from having a good friendship with the people around her. And she unfortunately had to learn all of that when they got stuck in the middle of a storm in a cave one camping night during a school trip. Talk about cliches.
Unfortunately for her, though dubbed herself as ‘Icy’, she was susceptible to the icy weather that hugged the camping grounds that night. It took her all the wearing patience she got to lower down her facade when Heeseung offered her his own wind breaker to keep her warm.
And it was possibly the bad decision that she made that night because alongside warming up her chilling skin, she herself warmed up to the boy who radiated sunshine and rainbows when she found herself responding to every little question that the male had in store for her.
It was a mistake she should've avoided, but with the freezing air that kept her wits suspended, she was bare to the following thoughts that perhaps Lee Heeseung wasn't as bad as she initially thought him to be.
And perhaps she could've avoided feeling the nasty, bitter, heartache later in the future when she continued avoiding him just like before after that one damned camping trip.
