EUNSEO felt foolish.

She felt like smacking herself upsidedown to wake herself up from the delusion that was starting to form inside her head.

Because she considered.

Again.

The martyr that she was.

That if Heeseung told her the truth now, she might not leave him. That she might give him another chance to redeem himself. And she will try to forgive him.

Because a thought passed through her mind.

What if his second chance to make amends with everything is the key for a flourishing relationship? For him and her to save their failing engagement?

Eunseo knew she was being a fool.

She contradicted herself yet again and the decisions and the promises that she made with herself.

But can people really blame her? She loves him still. Too much that she could put his cheating aside for the sake of a new beginnings for the both of them.

But then another thought passed through her mind.

Will be really worth it?

If he cheated now that they were already engaged, who's to say that he wouldn't do it again?

Eunseo waited, biting her lower lip as she waited for Heeseung’s answer to her question.

A few silent seconds before it came.

“Yeonjun hyung, Soobin hyung, Taehyun and Gyu.” Heeseung faced her, face blank and detached. “Kai arrived late.”

He took his pajama set from his closet before glancing at her, noticing the lack of expression in her face as he asked.

“Do you still have anymore questions?” He raised a brow. “Because if not then I'm gonna head to the bathroom and change.”

“Are you cheating on me?”

Heeseung stilled.

And Eunseo waited anxiously for the truth to come out of his own mouth.

It felt like a long time for Eunseo for her fiancee to respond. It was almost like Heeseung was dragging out the whole ordeal to keep himself from spewing out whatever alibi he had to keep the truth from her.

It was another painful puncture to Eunseo’s heart.

If he wasn't, why was he even thinking of his answer if he's genuinely not cheating on her? The answer should automatically come out of his mouth that he wasn't, but he was actually contemplating things first.

Though Eunseo already knew the truth, she was actually hoping that at least this time, he'd be real with her regardless if in the end, she leaves him in obliviousness.

Eunseo was already starting to think that maybe Heeseung didn't hear what she just said; judging from how still and silent he was, it was almost like it.

Eunseo was ready to open her mouth to repeat her question, however, before she could utter even a single syllable out, Heeseung already replied.

Though his answer only made Eunseo hurt even more.

“No.” Heeseung silently answered while he slowly shook his head as he faced her, turning his head to the side just enough so he can meet her eyes.

“No, I'm not cheating on you.” He clarified softly with an air of finality.

Licking her lips before smiling thinly, Eunseo nodded her head im understatement with a sigh before pushing herself off the bed. She walked towards the door whilst Heeseung remained rooted on his spot, almost as if he was deeply thinking about something. Before Eunseo pulled the door open, she paused. Then she gave one last glance towards the raven-haired male.

“Okay.” She simply said before leaving the room with a heavy pull of weight in her chest. The tears that brimmed in her eyes finally cascading down her reddened cheeks.

As the heart of the woman who simply did nothing but to love, slowly shattered, the conscience of the other awoke from their deep cease.

But perhaps it was already way too late.
