Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Trial of Life

Part 0: Prologue

"Hello Eevee" Arceus said
Eevee was stunned.
He had just been told by mew to "Come with me it's very important."

Now here he was, standing in front of the god of Pokémon.

"H-hi?" Eevee said, not knowing if he should bow down to him.
"I have watched over you and your friend's adventures." Arceus said.
"Ok." Eevee said.

"So I have called you here to tell you about-" Arceus gets cut off by someone teleporting to his realm.
"Sir, I have found Reshiram."
'Who is that?' Eevee thought to himself as he turned around.
"Hello sir, what do you need me for." Reshiram says, with a hint of annoyance in his voice.

Arceus quickly thinks and makes up an excuse.
"Hello Reshiram, how is your kingdom holding up?" Arceus says.
"It is going nicely although, we had a couple of wars lately." He replies.

'How aren't they noticing me?' Eevee thinks, watching this all go down.
"Good, that is all." Arceus says.
"Ok sir." Reshiram says, getting warped away by Kyurem.
Arceus turns back to Eevee.
"Now, back to what I was saying." He says.

"I have called you here to tell you about this." Arceus says, summoning two portals to the left and right of him.
Eevee stared at them, wondering what is gonna happen.
"These portals will send you either to a different world or the afterlife."Arceus says.
"Isn't this already the afterlife?" Eevee says.
"Well, yes and no." Arceus replies. "This is more of a area above the afterlife. Only a certain few can get here."
"Well then why am I here?" Eevee says.

"That is what I'm getting to." Arceus says. "The portal to your left will send you back to the afterlife, where you can live freely."
Eevee nods his head.
"The portal to your right will send you to a different world."
Before Arceus could say his next sentence, Kyurem comes back.

"Sir, is there anything else you need me to do?" Kyurem says.
"No, You may now leave." Arceus replies.
"Ok sir." Kyurem says before teleporting away.

"So, as I was saying-"
"Why couldn't he see me?" Eevee says, interrupting him.
"I have made you invisible, only I can see you." Arceus says.
"Ok, sorry for interrupting." He replies.

"The portal to your right sends you to a different world." Arceus continues.
"Is there a twist to this? Like if I go in the right portal, do I have to fight you or something?" Eevee says.
"Yes." Arceus says. "In this world, you must fight to survive. If you live, I will give you a choice to go back to your friends."
"Ok. So, a Trial of Life of sorts?" Eevee says.
"Although I wish you wouldn't call it that, yes. It is a Trial of Life." Arceus says.

Before Eevee could say something, someone else teleported into Arceus' realm.
"Sir, I have come to watch Eevee's decision." A mew says, floating over to Arceus.
"Why should I let you?" Arceus says.
"Because it is always fun watching this!" The Mew says.
"Fine. You may watch." Arceus says, sounding a little annoyed.

'That voice sounds familiar' Eevee thinks.
"So Eevee, " Arceus says "what is your choice?"
"I need to think about it for a second" Eevee says.
"Ok." Arceus aays.

'What should I do?' Eevee thinks 'I can just go to the afterlife right now or, fight for my existence?'
Eevee starts pacing in circles thinking about what he should do.
'The trial is gonna be hard, and it's gonna hurt. I would love to choose it but, I'm content with my life so far.' He thought.
Then he remembered his friends, and all the time they spent together.
The one week they spent together was amazing, although we was killed three, never mind, four times.
So he knew what choice he would pick.

"I'm ready." He says, confidently stepping towards Arceus.
"Ok, what is your choice." Arceus says.
"The right portal." He replies.

"Are you sure? It will be a very difficult trial." Arceus says.
"Yes!" Eevee says.
"Then, once you are fully prepared to go, walk though the right portal." Arceus says.

Eevee walked up to the portal.
He stops in front of it, mentally preparing himself to the trail he will face.
"Well, before I go I gotta say." Eevee says "Thank you for this second chance and," Eevee stops.
"Let's go!" He yells before jumping into the portal.

Mew laughs. "God, I love his enthusiasm!"
Arceus just stands there.
"What?" Mew says.
"He's not gonna survive out there with that attitude." Arceus says, closing both of the portals.

"Aww cmon, he's got this." Mew says happily.
"He is way too unprepared for this." Arceus says.
Mew stops smiling, remembering something she wanted to ask him.
"Why did you give him the hardest trial?" Mew says.

"I don't want him to live." Arceus says coldly.
Mew was stunned by this.
"Wha- Why!?" She says.
"It's prophesied that they will help save Earth. I want Earth to fall." Arceus says.
Mew couldn't say anything, she was stunned.

Suddenly, Arceus teleports her away, leaving him alone to watch Eevee fail.

Hello guys! I hope you're ready for this, because I am not.
Because I am posting weekly, I did the math and it turns out it will take me almost 2 years to finish both PL3 and PMD:ToF.
