"Someone said they were in love with me."
Cecil blinked, then his eyes widened so much they might as well have popped out. "What?? Who?""Nobody you know. But for some reason, it's really getting to me. I don't know what to do. They stayed with me for a week. Then they said they loved me, and then they left. They said they wouldn't see me again." Will slumped over on the bench they sat on, face resting in his hands. "I don't know what to do. I don't know how I feel, and I'm just angry all the time. What do I do now? Just move on?"
"...Do you really want to move on?" Cecil pushed. Will looked up. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, maybe you need to address this. It's clearly affecting you. You haven't been acting like yourself lately, and it's worrying me. If this is affecting you, then you can't just sweep it under the rug and move on. You have to do something."
"What do you mean, do something? What do I do? Go find him?"
"Him?" Cecil raised an eyebrow. "Yeah," Will sighed. "I don't even know how I feel about him. It would be unfair if I just confronted him without an answer, and while knowing he didn't want to see me again, right?" Cecil hummed, thinking. "Yeah, that would be unfair. So... you need to figure out your answer. You need closure with this guy." Cecil cleared his throat, standing up. "So, let's figure out how you feel! What are this guy's pros and cons, go!" Will blinked gratefully. Cecil was the best. "Um, con- he lied to me. Pro- he's really attractive. Pro- he's an amazing artist. Pro- he's funny and smart. Con- I've only really known him for a week. Pro- he's generous, caring, and thoughtful, and cooks for me sometimes. Pro- he's in love with me. Pro- oh." Will glanced up at Cecil, who was wearing a cheeky grin. "Pro, he's in love with me, huh?" He batted his eyelashes. "Hey, shut up! This was your idea!" I laughed in response, swatting his teasing face away. "Someone's got a cruuuushhh," he sang, taking a step back. "But seriously. You need to think about this. Why would it be a pro that he's in love with you if you didn't at least like him?"
"But how could I like him? We only spent a week together."
"You make it sound like he wasn't living in your house and doing all that domestic stuff with you." Cecil sighed. "You know it's not impossible, right? Love is different for everyone. It's okay if you fall in love faster than you thought you were supposed to. There are no rules for this sort of thing." He sat down next to Will again. "You kind of just have to trust your heart. It's okay if you can't call it love yet, or if you never do. But don't deny it. You'll just end up hurting yourself more."
Will thought for a minute, looking at his friend with wonder. When did he get so wise? He smiled. "You know, you're the best friend I think I could have ever asked for." Cecil smiled. "Yeah, I'm pretty great. Think about your next steps. And for gods sake, Kayla tells me you've been fighting! Stop it!" He whacked Will's head softly before leaving with a wave."Hello, is this Mr. Di Angelo?"
"Uh, hi. Yeah, that's me."
Nico grinned. He got the job.
