You stared up at Loki, his beautiful tones of blue and green glimmered within his eyes, sparkling under the lights of New York. You slowly reached a hand to his face, unsure of how he would react, you hesitated.
Your finger tips reached the side of his jaw, sweeping your hand gently through his raven hair.
His breath hitched and for a moment he felt his lungs stop working. He searched your eyes for any kind of sign. Anything at all to tell him that this wasn't another nightmare.
"I'm real..." you whispered. He didn't respond back. After a moment he spoke up.
"Are you hurt?" He asked worriedly.
You didn't respond, too caught up in looking at how much he had changed.
His hair was longer, his eyes sunken in slightly. The glow to his icy blue eyes had faded and his heart dropping smile had vanished.
"Y/n, are you hurt?" He asked again, this time more worried than the last.
With no answer to give you shook your head in response.
There was a moment of silence before you looked at him lovingly.
"I missed you..." you whispered.
Without hesitation after your words he held your head in his hands and embraced you. He removed his hands from your head and wrapped one around your body, entangling his remaining hand into your hair.
For a moment, and just a moment, you thought everything would be okay.
"He's is coming." Loki whispered as he pulled away. As if it was the only thing on his mind.
You blankly stared at him. Unsure of where you both stood in the relationship you had built.
To you, that felt like everything, but could it have been missed, that maybe you were gone for too long?
"Right..." you said. You cleared your throat and had Tony help you up. Slowly but surely Loki followed.
"What do we do?" Peter asked from the back. You hadn't even realized he was here.
"Peter?" You asked looking for him. He emerged from the crowd.
"What are you doing here? You could have gotten hurt!" You shouted. He looked to his feet and then back up to you.
"I just wanted to help..." he said quietly. Your anger and worry subsided and you became overwhelmed, now aware that no one got hurt.
You slowly brought him into a hug and stood there for what felt like forever. Peter gasped in surprise and soon hugged you back. You both hadn't known each other long, but he felt like your little brother again.
As you let go, the others began to walk away, leaving you and Loki.
"What do we do?" You asked biting the inside of your cheek and looking to the floor.
There was a moment of silence. You almost thought he too, had walked off. If it wasn't for his extremely cold touch.
You jumped as his hand swept across your face and into your hair. He slowly pulled you to his chest while his hands trembled.
"I thought I lost you." Loki whispered. You carefully looked up at him and searched his face for an expression. There was only one.
Sadness.
"Why are you upset love?" You reached your hand to his face, causing a tear to fall onto his cheek. He roughly pulled away, leaving you to stand vulnerably.
