December 1968
Seoul, South KoreaFelix sighs silently before fixing his composure. He stood straight, looked forward, and smiled forcedly, feeling sick of what he was doing now.
After trying for so many times, he still heard a sigh of disappointment from the older man beside him. "Young master, just a natural smile. You look really awkward right now," the man said, making Felix slouch and whine in irritation.
"Ugh!! I'm sick of this! Can we not do this and just do something else?" Felix whined, making the older man sigh again before shaking his head.
"You have to look presentable for the announcement of your engagement, youn-"
"Felix. I told you to just call me Felix, Mr Yang," he cut the elder.
"I'm sorry. As I was saying, you need to stand straight, smile, and look decent, Felix. In a week everyone will know about your engagement with Miss Yeji," Mr Yang said, making Felix slouch and whine even more while whispering how irritated he was, acting like a total child having a tantrum.
The older man watched him in amusement until he couldn't contain his laughter at the younger man's childish attitude.
Mr Yang sighed, "I guess we should just rest before you start hating me," he said to the younger boy, who was now smiling after hearing the elder's remarks.
"I would never hate you, Mr Yang!" Felix giggly said.
"Okay, let me just get you a snack so you won't be pouting all day here," the older man said, smiling genuinely at the younger man as he waited for him to nod.
"Okay, thank you, Mr Yang," Felix answered. The older man left the room, leaving Felix alone in the library while watching the door close.
Felix stretched his body, then sat on the couch near the window and just looked around the library. It's been about a month since the night he confessed to Chan, and everything is going well except for the fact that his engagement to Professor Hwang's daughter is approaching soon, and he's hating the fact that he has to marry a woman he barely even sees. He sighed and closed his eyes to relax. He just wanted the sun to set quickly so he could lock himself in his room and talk to Chan for the rest of the night or if he's lucky enough, he wants to be with Chan.
He was just relaxing inside the library while waiting for Mr Yang to come back until he felt something being thrown at him.
He looked to the window, and there he saw a smiling Jisung, gesturing him to come close. A wide smile immediately flashed on Felix's face. He stood up excitedly and ran to open the window for Jisung, "What are you doing here?" He asked his friend.
"I figured you would hate spending your time practising for the announcement ceremony so I came to save your ass," Jisung giggly said while he's looking behind him, making sure that no one sees him inside the Lee's residence.
"This is really dangerous, Jisung! You're insane," Felix nagged, still smiling like an idiot to his friend, who was just smiling back at him.
Jisung grinned proudly, "Who cares? I've already received plenty of punches from people I don't even know. I'm used to it now. It doesn't hurt me now," Jisung jokes, trying to assure his friend, but it only made Felix worry even more.
"Hey, don't say that, you don't deserve those punches," Felix pouty said.
Jisung sighed but still managed to give a smile to Felix, "Hey, don't mind it. Wanna go horseback riding? Let's race," he offered, earning an even wider smile from his friend.
Felix excitedly nodded his head, "of course!" He answered.
"Okay then, let's go," Jisung said.
Felix shifted his gaze to the room's entrance, then to his friend again. "Wait," he remarked as he walked over to the table to write something on the paper. When he was finished, he returned to the window, where his friend was waiting for him.
