Legacies, Truths and Goodbyes(遗产、真相和再见Yíchǎn, zhēnxiàng hé zàijiàn)

Bai Qian

Bai Qian's meditative state was broken by the sound of a soft knock on her bedroom door.  "Qian Qian, are you awake?" Nüwa called from outside her bedroom before slowly pushing the door open.  She saw Bai Qian sitting in lotus pose with a golden and  cobalt blue aura pulsing around her.  Nüwa isn't sure of whether Bai Qian is aware that she is floating at about half a meter above her bed whilst deep in meditation.  She saw her jolt out of her meditative state and fall straight into the bed in a tangle of robes and flailing arms.  Nüwa suppressed her mirth at the scene.  It's a repeat of previous incidents.  Whenever Bai Qian is disturbed from her meditation she always either falls over or falls down.  She has not mastered the art of easing herself from it slowly.  When Nüwa first taught her the deep meditation technique to reach the dormant power within the seat of her soul, it took her several attempts to get her mind in a state of silence and her body to be still. 

With her cheeks burning from embarrassment, Bai Qian stood up to face Nüwa.  The Heavenly Mother was looking at her with laughter dancing in her eyes.  "Qian Qian, will you please do me a favour by fetching Ye Hua and my husband from the lake.  I am afraid that if no one goes there to fetch them, they'll be there well after dinner."  "Of course Heavenly Mother.  I will fetch them now.  Please excuse me." Bai Qian replied then quickly left.

Nüwa saw Bai Qian take the back door of the cottage to the small path that will bring her directly to the lake.  She has taken that path several times in her stay with them.  She used to spend her time in the lake training with her or with Fuxi.  As Bai Qian disappeared from her sight. She took some wine from the kitchen to share with Mo Yuan while they waited for the others to come back.  She feels happy and content to have both her children with her.  

Making her way to the lake, Bai Qian enjoyed the subtle breeze and the sweet, fresh smell of the forest.  Being an earth animal, she appreciates and feels a close affinity with the woodland that surrounds her.  The time she spent with Nüwa and Fuxi in this world is one of her best memories.  She is grateful for having had the chance to meet and learn from them.  They have become like parents to her.  As she neared the lake.  She could hear a panicked shout from Ye Hua.  As she rounded the corner and the lake came into view, her jaw dropped and a roar of laughter burst out of her.

Ye Hua

Ye Hua happily sat beside his Fuqin waiting for a bite on his line.  So far, they have not had any luck catching any fish.  His Fuqin made it clear that both himself and their mother do not use magic in this realm.  They prefer to do everything without magic.  So they both sat waiting in companionable silence.  He felt himself slide into a semi awake state.  His hand went slightly slack in its hold of the fishing rod.  He can see his father has closed his eyes and reclined on the log behind him.  Ye Hua's mind had gone over to Qian Qian.  The Queen of Qing Qiu has been on his mind since he first saw her.  Her astonishing resemblance to Su Su has baffled him.  In his heart he knows that she is not his Su Su but he also feels drawn to her as he is drawn to Su Su.  He found himself wondering how her pillowy full lips would feel against his.

Ye Hua was jolted out of his reverie by a sharp tug on his line.  He quickly sat up whilst frantically trying to remember his Fuqin's instruction in reeling in a catch.  The sharp tug has now become a strong pull.  Whatever kind of fish is at the end of his line, it is strongly fighting to get away.  "Fuqin, I have a bite on my fishing line.  What should I do?"  Fuxi sat up then peered at the tension in the fishing line.  "It looks like you have a big one there, Ye Hua.  Give the line a bit of slack but not too much.  Then slowly reel it in."   Ye Hua followed Fuqin's instruction.  He slowly reeled the fish in, giving his line a bit of slack when the fish  pulled back.  His Fuqin told him to wait until the fish had stopped fighting before reeling it in quickly.  After several minutes the pull in the line has almost disappeared.  Ye Hua decided to quickly reel the fish in.  There was no resistance in the line so Ye Hua decided to reel it in even faster.
