Once Miss Minutes disappears the three of us continue walking around, exploring. "Have you heard of him before?"
I look over to Loki, "who?"
"He Who Remains?"
"No, I was under the belief that the Time-Keepers where in charge of everything. I've never heard of He Who Remains?"
"We'll, he won't remain for much longer," Sylvie chuckles a bit.
Soon we come across a room with three stature facing the middle of the room. It looks as if there had been a fourth at one point, but it had since been broke off of its base. We walk down the stairs and look around. There is pile of rubble on the floor and dust on the base of the remaining three statues. Loki wipes some of the dust with his fingers, "are we sure he's even still alive?"
As Loki asks this question we hear a door open, when the light comes through the opening door, Loki grabs my arm and pulls me behind him and Sylvie stands next to him as we all ready our weapons. The door that opens ends up being an elevator door, sliding open to reveal a man in a purple jacket. He sits with a large and rather creepy smile on his face before he stands and comes to the entrance of the elevator, "this is wild," he chuckles. "The three of you.... Two of you, same person... I mean, it's a little unnatural, but... wow! Wild." The man lifts an apple to his lips before chomping down on it.Sylvie lifts her head even higher then it normally is, "He Who Remains."
"He Who Remains," the man speaks through his chewing. "She still calls me that? Creepy, right? But... I like it. Come on. Come on, let's talk in my office," he gestures for us to come with him before he steps back into the elevator. Loki and Sylvie look back to me and I shrug before we start toward the elevator. Once we are there Loki and Sylvie keep their weapons trained on He Who Remains. "Not what you were expecting, hmm?"
"You're just...." Loki breaths heavily, "a man."
"Mmm, flesh and blood," He Who Remains sniffles. "Don't tell me I'm a disappointment."
"No, just a bit easier to kill," Sylvie swings at He Who Remains with a grunt, but he disappears before she can hit him, causing her to hit the wall.
When we turn around He Who Remains is laying on the bench behind us, chuckling. He flushing again and shoved Sylvie forward, when he does I step forward and put out a hand, "hey!" He flashes again, but this time he doesn't reappear.
It doesn't take long for the elevator to stop and the door to open, He Who Remains standing in front of the doors as if he was a waiting for us. "Come on in," he turns around and walks into the room. Loki, Sylvie and I remain on guard, "please, take a seat. "Uh..." he looks around with two cup in his hand, "Loki," he sits one cup down, "Loki, two sugars." He sits the other down before grabbing another, "and Kamaria, none." We walk around two the two chairs in front of the desk, "sorry, I don't have more chairs, I can see all, but even I couldn't see this little romance between the three of you forming."
Loki gestures to the chair, "go ahead, sit, I'll stand."
"It's been a long journey for you, hasn't it? Lot of running, lot of pain. And you," He Who Remains sputters as he points to me. "You're a flea on the back of a dragon. In for one hell of a ride. But you did manage to hang on. I guess that counts for something."
Loki gestures toward He Who Remains with his sword, "I'm not sure you quite understand the situation. You've lost. We found you."
"Duh, of course you did." Sylvie stands and marches toward He Who Remains and swings on him again, but he moves out of her way, right as she should have hit him, "whoa! A swing and a miss." He Who Remains laughs as Sylvie growls. "So, we're still doing that, hmm? Let's get all this out of the way." He moves around his desk and grabs a book, "okay, here we go." He grabs a few papers from the book, "you can't kill me because I already know what's going to happen." He taps on the pages, we look over them and they look like the transcripts we keep at the TVA from the trails. "See?"
Loki scoffs, "it's a parlor trick."
"Okay, don't you wonder how I'm able to get out of the way just before you kill me?"
I cross my arms, "probably because of that little TemPad of yours."
"Right. But how do I already have it loaded up with everything I need to know to keep from being killed by you three? It's easy. I know it all. And I've seen it all. Everything you guys did in Lamentis," He Who Remains chuckles, "I saw. All the stuff the TVA didn't know about. I knew. Al the scheming, all the... talking. That little look by the lake." I look up to Loki and he looks back to me, "quite sentimental, very touching stuff, by the way."
"No," Sylvie shakes her heads. "No, we broke out of your little game. That's how we got here."
"No, wrong. Every step you took to get here, Lamentis, The Void, I paved the road. You... you just walked down it. And I have the rest, uh, right here." He grabs a few more pages, "everything that's, uh... that's going to happen. There's only one way this can go."
"Then why are we here?"
