Sylvie takes her own advice and decides she is in a safe enough place and with trustworthy enough company to sleep. Once she's asleep Loki turns to me and smiles, "I'm going to hit the bar." I stop him before he can get up, "what?"
"You can't exactly party it up while you're dressed as a guard. Don't you think that would be a bit suspicious?"
"You're right," Loki nods and with a flash he's back in his TVA uniform and jacket. "Better?"
"Much."
Loki gets up and I follow him, "what you didn't like that skin tight blue suit?"
I chuckle, "let's just say I'd prefer to use my imagination, and now there are parts of you I may never get out of my head."
"Come on, it wasn't so bad," Loki smirks.
I look over to Loki and look deeply into his eyes. When I realize what I'm doing I take a deep breath, "bad enough I need a drink."
"Right," Loki nods and gestures for the bartender. When we get our drinks he looks down to his and swishes it around a bit, "can I ask you something?"
"Sure."
"Why do you hate me so much?"
I shake my head, "I don't hate you. I uh... I see myself in you."
"Is that truly so bad?"
"You didn't know me before."
"No one will if you don't open up."
I nod and down my drink in one big gulp, "did you ever think that may be the point?"
"Fine," Loki downs his drink as well, "then we will just stand here and drink, in silence."
"You know," I gesture for another drink, "that may be your best idea yet."
Loki and I continue to drink, well, Loki more than me. I've had about four drinks, were as he's on his seventh. "Honestly, do you like working for the TVA?" Loki leans against the bar, "it's so boring."
"Yes, but boring can be good."
"For who?"
"For someone like me, who spent her entire life running from one place to another."
"But see, how am I to know who I'm talking to, if you won't tell me."
"Would you please, just drop it," I hadn't realized until my last few syllables, but my accent had started to come through.
"What was that?" Loki perks up. I sigh and shake my head, "English, isn't your first language, is it?" I don't answer and take a sip of the drinks, that I have now decided to slow down on, "what is?"
"Spanish."
"Interesting."
"Is it?"
"Yes, it is," Loki nods, propping his head up with his hand as he looks up to me.
"You're drunk."
"You need to loosen up," I scoff and roll my eyes as Loki continues, "do you have any favorite Spanish songs?"
I nod, thinking about to one of the only good foster homes I ever had, "yeah, I do."
"Well, do tell."
"Uh, it was a song that a pair of my foster parents use to sing and dance to all the time."
Loki's tone shifts from try to force questions and answers to one of genuine curiosity, "how does it go?"
I chuckle, and clear my throat,
"Con este tango que es butlón y compadrito
Se ató dos alas la ambución de mi suburbio
Con rate tango nació el tango, y come un grito
Salió del sórdido narrowly buscandi el ceilo."Loki looks to me and smiles as I look around, becoming a bit nervous as I notice some have begun listening and watching. "Keep going."
I nod and close my eyes,
"Conjuro extraño de un amor hecho cadencia
que abrió caminos sin más ley que la esperanza,
mezcla de rabia, de dolor, de fe, de ausencia
llorando en la inocencia de un ritmo juguetón.
Por tu milagro de notas agoreras
nacieron, sin pensarlo, las paicas y las grelas,
luna de muddles, canyengue en las caderas
y un ansia fiera en la manera de querer."I open my eyes when I hear Loki begin to sing in English
"I tough your lips and all at once the sparks go flying
Those devil lips that know so well the art of lying
And through I see the danger still the flame grows higher.
I know I must surrender to your kiss of fire.""Impressive Laufeyson."
We continue to sing and one of the up coming versus is a duet, Loki singing his part in English, while I sing my part in Spanish, even though we aren't singing the same lyrics. But it's what makes this song one of my favorites.
"I can't resist you, what good is there in trying
"Pot tu molar go de notas agorereas?"What good is there denying you're all that I desire?"
"Nacieron, sun pensarlo, las laicises y las grelas""Since first I kissed you my head was your completely"
"Luna de charcos, canyengue en las caderas""If I'm a slave, then it's a slave I want to be."
"Y un ansia fires en la manera de querer."Loki smiles down to me as he moves away a bit,
"Don't pity me."
"Don't pity me."
The rest of the song is a typical duet,
"Give me the lips, the lips you only let me borrow
Love me tonight and let the devil take tomorrow
I know that I must have your kiss although it dooms me
Though it consumes me
The kiss of fire."
